Well, it's that time of year again.....(what happened to January???) and I got to thinking about what my favorite Elvis Christmas songs were. So I thought about it long and hard, and here are my favorites: (not in any particular order)

1. Blue Christmas
2. I'll Be Home On Christmas Day
3. Merry Christmas Baby (full version)
4. Santa Claus Is Back In Town

Ok these are my top 5 christmas songs:

1. Santa Claus is Back in Town. This is such an underated classic, doesnt matter this is a christmas tune, this had to be on 2d to None and releases of that kind.
2. Merry Christmas Baby. The long version with bluesy Guitar fills as
overdubs, much better to overdub a track like this and not with crapy
strings isnt it?
3. Ill Be Home On CHristmas Day. The electric guitar intro version.
4. Blues Christmas. Some people say its horrible, I say its Elvis.
5. Ill Be Home For Christmas. It just feels like you want to go home.

Blue Christmas for my money was his most fun Christmas song. Then I guess his version of White Christmas. Guess I'm a fan of the colors of Christmas.

Because Merry Christmas Baby is just a kick@ss blues masterpiece, it's hard to think of it in the same genre as songs like Silver Bells. So I won't mention it. :wacko:

If I Get Home On Christmas Day is my favorite Christmas song from Elvis. It's a song I've never heard anyone else do, but it's so catchy and heartfelt, with a subtle Christmassy feel and a mighty fine vocal.

If Every Day Was Like Christmas is probably next on my list. I love the message there and the way it is delivered.

Of course, all Christmas songs are special in their way, but these five are always in my mind during this special season. Is wonderful that these songs and the rest of them, in some way, unite us, people all over the world and make us think about love and all the magic things that Christmas brings. Elvis loved Christmas and he really enjoyed this holiday by sharing with his loved ones and other people almost everything that he had. I wish you all a very beautiful Christmas!
