TCB Band on the way out??: During the TCB Band House Party held at Duns Castle, Scotland last weekend, rumours were picked up from members of the TCB Band & people close to them that EPE owner Robert Sillerman is looking to take over control of the 'Elvis the Concert' shows, and is seriously considering replacing the TCB band with other (younger?) musicians.
But just to reassure everyone, they will definitely be performing in Memphis for Elvis Week 2007!!!

disrespectful, ugly and impossible..hope this is just a rumour.. such an idea can't be produced in a "brain"..:cursing: Oh! maybe the colonel is still alive..:hmm:
Thr original guys are not getting any younger.Sooner or later you would have to replace them or just shut it down. Some of the guys might think it has run it's course and no longer participate at some point.I think lots of Elvis fans dont even know the TCB band.I believe the music and the illusion that's created is the main draw.

I realy hope this is just a rumor, too.
There will never be another TCB Band; I can imagine they won't live forever (unfortunately) but it's a stupid thing to change it now that they still want to play.
In future I'd like to see another band remembering Elvis and his music but it won't be the real "TBC Band" anymore....:P

I agree there will never, ever be another TCB Band, there is only one and after that no more.
It would fail miserably without the TCB Band

it's better to shut it down of course, when they're no longer available to play..there's no need to know them personally..they made the music we love and want to hear..and for me,they were the best musicians ever played with Elvis..those younger musicians plan,if it's true, must have something to do with that impersonater BS.. c'mon EPE,replace the TCB band with young ones, replace Elvis with those *****s..and enjoy yourself watching them in the biggest and cheapest circus which will be build soon in,Memphis..

You don't suppose that they will be having the impersonators contest to have someone live to use with newer, younger TCB band members? What a travesty that would be! (n)

This news actually came from the Elvis-Express web site and it was brought to their attention by a reliable source who was at the party, so unfortunately,
I don't think it is a rumour, it's simply David Silly-man doing his thing again! :cursing:

In 2004, at Elvis Fest in Las Vegas. A lot of the Elvis members could not play because of health reason like John and couple others. So they brought in band that has backed me at my shows "ExSpence Account Showband." Here is there webpage http://www.elvistributeband.com/ they have pictures I believe still on their updated site.
These guys are the best they are 9 piece band, there the only all Elvis tribute band that I use for my shows they are just great.

I guess the TCB-band is to be replaced sometime in the future by younger and cheaper musicans. Maybe an Elvis-Hotel is built in Vegas and the ELVIS IN CONCERT show becomes a regular feature of the hotel. And - with different musicans - you can play the same show in different parts of the world at the same time.

Perhaps I am just crazy...
But isn't it the purpose of ELVIS - THE CONCERT to bring fans the "feeling" of a live Elvis Presley show? Especially for the younger fans who might not have been able to see Elvis in concert when he was alive?? So, exactly how would you bring fans the "feeling" of an actual Elvis concert WITHOUT the musicians and vocalists that ACTUALLY performed with him on stage?? :hmm:
Now, like everyone else, I certainly realize that the band members and vocalists that played with Elvis are getting older and might not want to continue touring for whatever reason....and if THAT is the case, then perhaps bringing in younger musicians (perhaps understudies to the original band members and vocalists?) might be the answer to continue the show! Personally, my main reason for wanting to see one of the shows live would be to see the original band members and vocalists...I don't really know if I would be as motivated to see ELVIS - THE CONCERT with a whole new group of musicians??? :hmm:
But if the reason for making the change is just for the sake of change on Sillerman's part....then perhaps this guy isn't as in touch with the fans as he should be, and might not necessarily be the savior to the whole Elvis Empire that some people thought he was....
Just my humble opinion, though...
TCB!

There is and there will always be ONLY ONE TCB band! It doesn't make sense to me to replace the musicians who worked with Elvis, cos that's why we love watching their shows, because the actually played with Elvis!
