Here are a few,

Blue Moon,
A lot of people see this as a love song, I see it as a lust song, the music is sparse and spooky, and elvis? vocals sound really sexy and desperate. Its saturated in slap-back echo and his voice is really thin and wobbly sounding, It doesn?t sound like anything else.

One Night,
It?s a very basic song, but I really like ?One Night? the music is really simple and stripped down, but when El sings the chorus, it goes right down my spine. People who say blues is strictly for black men are wrong, the passion and feel in El?s version transcends all musical boundaries.

His cover of Dylan's Tomorrow Is A Long Time is just perfection as far as I'm concerned ...

Unchained melody from 1977.
This songs still gives me the goosebumps everytime he sings it.
His voice is still great.

Pledging my love.
This song was played during my wedding.
So that is why this song has a special place in my heart.

Early years: blue moon and one sided love affair

sixties: can't help falling in love, don't, return to sender, his latest flame, crying in the chapel, memories, if i can dream

seventies: so many (y)

always on my mind, you'll never walk alone, seperate ways, my way,any day now, solitaire, gentle on my mind

I know:blush: I gave to many here but could not help it they are sooo beautiful.:P

MY WAY- Well for one I call this 'Elvis's Theme Song' in my shows. Because if you really really listen to the words it fits Elvis to a tee.

HURT- You can feel Elvis pooring his heart out to Priscilla and all his pass loves that he missed and loved.

TORROMOW NEVER COMES- Nothing but POWER in that voice all the way threw.

Love to all,
Tim Dudley

My favorite song is Always on my mind, He sings it like he knows he lost his love, and wants her to know he made mistakes too!

1. Suspicious Minds - I don't know but there's something about Elvis' voice that's very alluring in this song. I just love it to death!

2. Don't be cruel - It's just a very cute song! What can I say?

3. Rubberneckin' *Not The Remix* - Don't get me wrong I like the remix but I fell in love with this song way before they remade it. I think it's one of Elvis' more.... "soulful" songs. I used to rewind "Change of Habit" to that part just to hear him sing it!

I can't say why I love ONE song...I should find a reason for every song.:P

I can choose one at random...my choice is An American Trilogy...why I love that song? I can't explain it easily with words...it's something connected with my emotions when I listen it.
From the first time I heard that song I had shivers and I couldn't stop crying :'( ...there's Elvis in that song...his soul, his passion, his power, his charisma, his tenderness.
I immediately felt in love with that song and it's still one of my favourites.

I can't just name songs, there are too many. My two favorite CD's are Amazing Grace and Elvis country. His voice is at it's best in both in my opinion.

Really, IMO, the key point is that EP could sing anything and make it at least sound good, if not great. It's the inflection, tone, and range of emotions that he managed to put into his voice. I can't name one other singer who can do this as well.

Just for kicks, here's some picks:

50's: Good Rockin' Tonight, Baby Let's Play House

60': It Hurts Me, Return to Sender

70's: Just Pretend, You've Lost that Lovin' Feeling

But, I could make a list 100 long.

Elvis' music is my present addiction. From :king: the Hillbilly rock: Blue Moon of Kentucky I like the way it makes you want to get up & dance
Blues: Heartbreak Hotel I like the story of how it was written. I try to imagine what kind of song I would have written after reading about that young man, & I couldn't have done it better.
Rock: Burning Love, Hunk of Love, Rip it up,
Country: For the Heart, US Male, only Elvis could sing that song & get away with it. I love the line: I bought her a ring that I got on sale, that makes her the property of this US male. Property? Whoah!
Ballads: Indescribably Blue,
Love Song: I'll Remember You, that song just brings me to a "special place". It's corny I know, but it really mellows me out.

I love songs like Any Day Now, American Trilogy, How Great Thou Art, If I Can Dream where he uses a lot of range. On the other hand I like songs like Down In The Alley where his voice sounds raw - true R & B style. Diane

Elvis recorded literally hundreds of songs. Generally speaking I like them all. I can listen to any or all of them. There are some that I'm not in love with. No, it's not necessarily certain movie songs. Sometimes I even tire of certain "classics".
