back in the spring in 74, i saw ELVIS in detroit, i had great seats, 2nd row, right, as i got into the stadium i noticed the stage was low,[good news for me], bad news for E.P., I WAS GOING TO TAKE GREAT PICS, I hadn't seen him sice the sping of the follwing year, well needless to say i was in for a suprise, as the acys finish and the lights went down , and 1 minute 36 seconds ELVIS came on stage, straight to the mike, no banter, or walkig across the stage, he just got the guitar and stutted into cc rider, eyes c;osed. i started firing from my seat, as people started to get closer and closer ELVIS looked p,o,'d never once posing for photos , durring amen a woman gave him a yello stuffed rabbitt, ELVIS said thanks, and charlie came over and got it, ELVIS was not intereted in banter with the audience, he segwayed righy into love me stain clear away from the hecklers, This was one of the worst shows i had seen[elvis was not well] but he looked very good, and the suit was a beaut'shimmering all over, i remember seing joe and a guy that looked like a hippee in the leftn wing, i stayed until, mystery train[a blurb], and then left to go to back of arena where already there was at least 20 people and counting as more and more arrived , i checked my camera again and again, everyone was doing the same others were holding up sighns, alot of chatting going on , suddenly the back garage doors opened and the local police, cordonned us off, asking to get back and pushing, a yellow sedan vacated and ELVIS , was in the middle of yje seat with red on the right, started firing my camera ,everone started screaming, it was over in an instant just like the performance, suddenly two ladies start talking and saying they are going to the airport, i later found out the lady with all the gusto was [JUDY PALMER] she also had a camera and focal lens and we all piled into the taxis at front of colliseum , im remember our cabbies name, CHRISTOPJER, he had an accent and he told us he was from greece amd he asked us about elvis and if we were crazy to go to the airport, with banners etc...needless to say we got there and at the far left field was two cars and a greyhound bus, we aked him to drive over there, the gate was about 8 feet away where the plane and cars etc.. were, along with another pile of fans all screaming ELVIS , and two women were hoarse and still screaming and crying, as i looked over the car doors opened first the front doors , and then the back, joe rushed ou and the trunk opened wjere he and the hippee took out the stuff, suddenly red and sonny camearound and dick grob, elvis and a lady came out the lady first[linda thompson] and elvis emerged, wearing a light brown trench coat, and the other car carried some other lady, vernon, dr nick, nobody came out of the buss it was just parked, we all were screaming ELVIS, ELVIS, ELVIS, Even i was now screaming elvis , i could see him at a bout the distance of my seat at the concert, he looked our way and then rushed the stirs with vernon behid, i don't think he was in a good mood, we all waited with sighns waving and yelling, with the noise of the jet i'm sure he couldn't hear us, this was the last time i would see E,P. IN 3 years , but not the last time i would get as possibly close as i could, when a pair of us followed him to the ambassador motel in dayton, i saw ELVIS within 4 feet, and i cme with my camera and took some nice[not perfect] photos , this time it was a new girl accompaying him enroute to his show, not linda, sheila, or ginger, the thing that sticks out of my mind were his hands and how they had scabs all over then [the right hand], they rushed right on, and JOE kept yelling at all of us to "GET THE HELL BACK', this was one guy i never liked he always treated the fans bad , he pushed the side of my face as he came by, this was the last time i ever saw E.P. off stage, i would see him on the winter 77 tour all 18 shows.

I did see him a several times too. I sometimes came over to his Beverly Hills house. I used to play pool with him and the guys. One time, it was very late in the night. He just came over and asked me to come with him. I did and we got into one of his many cars standing in front of the house. He drove through Bevery Hills like a formula one driver.. lol It was like riding a coaster!

My friend's mother went to several Elvis shows during the concert years. She met Elvis in 1963/64.

Very nice story, thanks for posting.

"Diamond" Joe from what i've heard and read about him seems mean...many say he was working for the Colonel in the later years and was telling him everything Elvis was saying and doing...and he claims to have been Elvis' best friend...Dont think so, imo!

Hey memphis - cool the head - your just bitter over previous threads where I showed you up!

Happy Xmas; until I see proof of something I rarely believe it, and personally I find the unreleased footage thread laughable.

All I did was look at your public profile you listed on here.Youre the one one who gave the info on your profile. which Im guessing is correct.I was just surprised Joe Esposito shoved a 4 year old in the face.He would have had to bend over to do it.I didnt know most guys here lied about their age.

i understand your point seing is believing, many doubted that bot shows from the cbs special existed , along with the backstage footage, 6 years ago all the doubters were silinced, the guy who held this these tapes went to alot of trouble to have them transferred, to a guy he was selling them to, in the end the guy got bits here and there and leaked the first copy-b/w. I will ask again i'm willing to trade all 22 minutes of pro vtr footage to another fan who has unreleased footage pro from other concerts, i'm willing to trade for even the worst quality possible with on screen video mark, i would ask that the trade be printed, of course 33 you are bloody jealous, for you have nothing of value except the plates and cups and all the other crap that you collect, oh i forgot you are on the dole, put your money where your mouth is and come up with something rare or personal item that E.P. owned to trade with me the MEMPHIS 76 FILM, OK so you all have read this lets go people .i think you will find that 33 will be CUT DOWN TO SIZE, as for jak not believing that ESPOSITO SHOVED A FOUR OR FIVE YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL,i was there among many i'm sure their wre others on this board who attended this show, i would also like to trade my concert photos /candids originals with yours of the shows you attended, along with your ticket stubs. People i will continue to express my opinions as long as tcb world alows me, i have bin collecting for over 35 years. You may ask others like JIM CURTIN, TOD SLAUGHTER, ROBIN ROSEANNE, SEAN SHAVER, ROSEMARIE LEECH, BOB HEISS, ED BONJA, JOHN GADORE , MARIE BUTTONS, SUE WEINGART, ANNE NIXON, ABOUT ME.

lol

You are so naive it's laughable! Truth is; you don't know anything, and I do believe that what you write is idle dribble on these forums.

You seem unable to spell or make any sense, and while you think I may be on the dole - you are far far mistaken. I have things of great value, none of which I will post here as I don't seek gratification or appreciation from complete strangers on an Internet site.

Seeing as were supposed to ask about you; why don't post your name, instead of going by Memphis77 and lying about your age in your profile........or maybe you actually were 4 for that concert!

Have a good Xmas, and chill out - you get easily stressed!

again people , i say to you all that 33 is the one who tells fibs, i mean if you have something that is original or worth just post it, and stop the b.s. and please don't ruin this thread for real collectors. JAK i would love to tradr for original photos of the shows you attended, i would trade you my photos from the shows i attended and photographed. i SURLY WILL NOT POST MY NAME FOR YOU 33, YOU MAY want to ask others who i am and have traded with, without problems. again stop the nonsense and contribute something rare and original of the same callibre , or get out of this thread. I hate little guys like you who have no money to go to auctions and buy these things you can only look, it's guys like me who have to release this stuff for fans , and then have it duplicated to horrendous quality, so guys like you can then afford it, enough said , i will leave it to the others on this forum if you desire that i be gone just post it., and i will get off gracefully, and i appoligise to all that enjoy this thread that it is very long it's just these little piss ants are so negative and naieve when it comes to these things, but are so willing to buy from dealers when they come available.

I wasnt trying to start a war with a simple question.I didnt write your profile.I just noticed the age listed in relationship to your story and asked you about it.Youre defensive nature to my question wasn't waranted and is curious. If you are caught in a deception of youre own doing dont blame me.I never mentioned Joe pushing a little girl either.I just said a 4 year old.You do need to take it easy. Why search for the approval of total strangers anyway? Why care if anyone believes you or not.If youre stories are true you were very lucky and there is no reason to be insecure about it.

Memphis - Grow up!

My names not 33 - are you dyslexic?

I do not boast about wealth, but im quite sure I could buy and sell you and your insignificant footage - if it exists! Why don't you prove us all wrong and post some of this footage? Or does it not exist? Either way I am tiring of you and your spelling is so irritating....a bit like you I suppose.

It's no big deal at all.Just a misunderstanding.I really wasnt trying to provoke you.I tried to pm you but youre mailbox is full and wont accept any messages.
I saw Elvis at Notre Dame in 74.My wife who is a good deal older than me saw him perform twice at Notre Dame, in 74 and 76.She also saw him twice in Fort Wayne, in 72 and 76.She saw him at Graceland a few times also. She followed him to the airport in Memphis to see him off on the final tour. She met Linda and Lisa in 76 after she snuck up to Graceland back by the trailers. They both autographed for her and then Elvis drove up at the very end.Elvis gave my wife 5 autographs over the years.
