Yes Stefan, it's still there, but it's now called the Horizon Casino Resort.
The sad thing is that the hotel's theatre where Elvis performed has been turned in to a movie theatre now.

I've been trying to remember the year and what he wore ever since but have been unable to pinpoint either one. The ticket stub we have left was torn so that no information remained on it. I can't tell you why my memory isn't clear on the date - my husband can't remember either. I was so excited to be there everything else went out of my head. It was either '72 or '73. My husband and I were seated at tables at about the fourth row to the right facing the stage.
He wore one of the white jumpsuits is all I can remember, he looked wonderful and his voice was as usual remarkable but he seemed a bit subdued, not as animated as the first time we saw him the year before at the Oakland Coliseum. I remember hearing beforehand that his marriage was in trouble and attributed his quietness to a sadness over that. It was great seeing him up so close as the first time we saw him was from the balcony. He still smiled at the audience quite a lot but seemed to be rushing through the performance. I didn't get the feeling he was enjoying it as much as he usually did - maybe just a bad night...wish I had more details to tell you.

Thanks, for sharing your story with us...Did you get to take any pics, I'm sure you would have mentioned this, but just thought I would ask...

No Franny, no pictures. We were told it was not allowed so like *****s we listened while other peoples' cameras were going off all over the place.:lmfao:
One thing I forgot to mention is that the first time we saw him in Oakland we bought the usual tickets and were grateful they weren't sold out. That's the ticket stubs I still have that gives no information on the date etc.
For getting in at the Sahara Tahoe show a co-worker of my husband's told him we wouldn't have to get tickets just to mention his name at the door, (leave a little gratuity) and we would get good seats. You can imagine my nerves when we got there without tickets! I was sure we would be turned away but by gosh it worked and we had great seats. I still wonder just what that connection was that got us in?????

Wow I don't know about that story. I remember so many details of each of the six times I saw Elvis. How could you forget? He wore a white jumpsuit? No kidding HA!

MIEvlis, maybe the fact that our son was born in '71 and my mother died in '72 never having gotten the chance to see him because she lived 3000 miles away had to do with my emotional state and clear memory of happenings during those couple of years????
I'm glad your memories are clear and detailed of the concerts your attended. Wish mine had been too.
