I love to put in an Elvis dvd while I'm working on my computer. This way you have soem talking on the background and a thing to watch now and then (much better than that awfull programming on the television).

So what's your favourite Elvis music DVD?

As much as I like On Tour, the CBS Special, and Aloha, I have to rate Thats The Way It Is as my personal favorite DVD, because here Elvis was at his peak, both physically and musically, while his performances were as sharp as a razor! :D

It was a bit of a tough choice between "Lost Performances" and " TTWII" - so I created my own version of the "TTWII" EXP Spl personal edition that has elements of the Original TTWII - Starting from the Opening Flash bulb sequence , to adding all the missing songs and selected songs from the "Lost Performances"to the new TTWII -SE running time 116 mins ( restricted to 120 by the DVD).

Elvis is loose and in good humour ( Aloha too tense and 68 well very good but the range of songs was limited)

So that is my favorite music DVD.

TTWII" EXP Spl personal edition

Because I live in the UK, I aint seen the new 'Aloha' or '68' DVD's - got another week to go

I voted for Aloha anyway, cos as fabulous as '68', 'TTWIII' and 'EOT' were, I just feel everything came together for Elvis during that performance - he was The King! Check out that camera shot that pans in on him after the flute solo in 'American Trilogy' - fantastic! :worthy:

It has to be Thats the way it is for me....although the NBC came a very close second  along with Elvis On Tour and Aloha :P

Its a hard one....but TTWII is Elvis at his very best. The finished article...supreme (y)

Voted for That's the way it is, because I find his performance here perfection. Second 68 comeback special, have not seen everything yet but what I saw was great. The Aloha on the big screen was awsome!

Although I love all of these musicdvd's (duhhh), I've voted for TTWII. The whole buildup from the rehearsals, to dressed rehearsals and the show is so wonderfully done. You see the fun and laughter, but also the tension and frustration.

TTWII has it all and it features Elvis at his (almost) best. Of course he was wilder in '68 and '69, but he had improved as a performer and artist.

I'm going to have to vote informal for this one as well. I haven't seen the new Aloha one yet, but it would be a toss up for a couple of those mentioned as well as 'He Touched Me'........the gospel DVD's.

It was a difficult choice, but I voted for Aloha new edition.

That's The Way It Is (special edition) is a close second, but because of the editing on that one I finally went for Aloha...

I think that That?s The Way It Is was really beated by Aloha and Comeback DVD Deluxe editions! TTWIISE is great DVD but... Elvis voice isn?t in best shape... He has a power but if you will compare I Can?t Stop Loving You from TTWII and from Aloha, which version is better??? It?s easy to say it: ALOHA!

I have to say that it's a toss-up between three films. My favorite "music" DVD's are (in no specific order) That's The Way It Is, Aloha, and 68 comeback - all special editions!!! If they ever come out with Elvis On Tour special edition, that would bee cool.

It's well worth the wait you all in the UK for Aloha DVD Box Set! Also love the 68 Box Set.

This is my first post, although I've been lurking for awhile. Great site & forum! I really learn a lot here. Anyway, "That's The Way It Is: Special Edition" is definitely my favorite DVD. For me, the film captures Elvis at his peak. He had perfected his show and his craft. And he was still having fun!

The upgraded TTWII was definitely an improvement, but I'm still waiting for an "Ultimate Edition" to at least contain the bonus songs they had to cut from this release. I'd prefer a set along the lines of '68 Comeback and Aloha Deluxe Editions, though, where they present ALL footage taken for this documentary.

Close runner-up is the '68 Comeback Special Deluxe Edition. I tend to watch the live portions of this the most. The raw power of these shows is unmatched. They make a great companion pieces to the more polished TTWII.

It really is hard to choose, though. It all depends on the mood I'm in at the time...

And if you compare Blue Suede Shoes and Suspicious Minds, which are better? TTWII hands down. You picked a lesser performance for comparison. Lovin' Feelin, Bridge, I Just Can't Help Believing, etc are better vocally than anything in Aloha, apart from Trilogy. Of course a couple of those weren't in the special edition.
