Remix Album coming in 2007!!

There's a new hot remix of Burning Love being used on a Honda commerical and the producer of it has said that it will be featured in full version on an upcomg Elvis Remix Album. All I got to say is that IT'S ABOUT TIME!

thats right folks.......

you done read the subject of this journal entry correctly............yes you did!

ELVIS and MOWO! have teamed up to do a little project together.

Ive just done a remix of "HUNK OF BURNIN LOVE"

funky new beats.........gospel sounding piano...........THE KING getting his whoops and hollahs in..........and me..........little old stupid me..........rocking the funkiness.

Initially the remix is going to be featured in a HONDA CR-V ad............and then it will be released as a full version on an ELVIS remixed album.

I have to say this year has been amazing regarding remix projects.........its total an honor and a blast to get to work on these sorts of things. LAter in the YEAR or early next year I have a sort of MARVIN GAYE remix I worked on coming out and Im getting ready to start a BEE GEES remix as well........

but working on a remix for "THE KING" was a trip.........its a fun funky thing.........my goal with these things is always to serve the track as best as possible and not try to fix what isnt broken......so some folks may hear it and say........."wow.....this just puts a smile on my face and still has the same feel" others might say.........."I hate mowo! and id like for him to stop doing remixes and just shut up and finish his new album already so i can buy it and burn a copy of it" ..........HA!!!!!....ok..........i dont think anyone says that.....but if they do.........well.........SUGGIT........is my only response........and its a fitting one!

There is definitely enough material to put together a solid well thought out remix album of about 12 to 14 songs. I'm getting excited about this new album's potential and possibluties.:clap: Maybe there will be a remix album early 2007 or better yet late 2006, and a re-recorded album for the big 30th Anniversary as if EP himself re-recorded the tracks today. That would be the ultimate and would top 2002's remix and hits album.(y)

If it puts Elvis with todays music and todays youth, such as my self, like it, well and good. But this kind of music has lost the love it once had, and i'm quite against it, unless it puts Elvis back in the charts.

i've done a remix of She's a Machine, i just thought it was perfect for a redo, great beat, and what better title to use for redoin' a song with new technolgy. I'm no dj, but i had fun fiddlin' with it.

Giving some of the tracks a modern like sound (if they market it right) not only would sound refreshing to the older fans (like me), but also attract younger / newer fans as well, making it a win - win deal.

I have alot of mixed feelings about projects like this. On one side of the coin , I feel that Elvis's music is best left undisturbed in its natural sence. On the other hand if the remix music sounded more like 70's or even 80's, then perhaps I would get excited about it.
Most kids these days really like the rap and hip hop stuff. I have heard some past remixes with that sound. For example the song "Little less conversation". A friend of mine played it and I felt ill. Or go back to 1981 when the record "Guitar Man" came out. It was a country record with a more modern country sound to it. I have this record. I thought it was ok, but some of it was just a bit on the corney side.
So what I am trying to say is...if this remix cd was made with more class, then I might buy it. I just don't think there is any thing classy about rap, or these electronic weird sounds they use. But then hay, I am in my mid 30's and more set in my ways. What one likes is different then what others like.

For those who are "against remixes let me just say that we all have the originals so what on earth is the problem with adding or rearranging the tune to make it sound different and in some cases more modern ??????

Just because a song is remixed it dosent mean that we loose the original, its still there you know. With releasing remix singles also gives the opportunity to put the original mix on the single. Remixes are the way forward for Elvis, Elvis impersonaters are not !!

I've heard that this remix of burning love is done by our own dutch DJ Tiesto...if that's the case we can look forward to a very good remix! Hope he did get the permission from the estate to work on this...if not...we will never see an official release of this album and we can hunt e-bay for this remixed album...

I agree with Patrick ... this project has to be done by a top rate DJ [ALLC for example] ... lets release a quality remix album and bring the King to a new , fresh market (y)

I doubt any rappers will be on an official EP song or remix. That's just how I feel. I do think Hip Hop which isn't rap but more of a culture could be included. A Little Less Conversation had Hip Hop influences on the remix. The original even had Hip Hop like rhythms on it. I do think any remix or re-recorded tracks will be done to the acceptance of both RCA and Lisa Marie. I think those that complain about it should just not buy it. It cannot do harm to EP but only bring in newer younger fans for the future. Most kids today hooked on EP since 2002 got there through the remix of Conversation.

Here's my idea-do a remix album, but ad a bonus disc of all the tracks in their original form just digitally remastered for the newer fans to hear both the remixes and the originals. Make the bonus disc free with the purchase of the remix CD. They did this with 30 #1 Hits with the bonus disc of the press conference and The Beatles did it with Let It Be...Naked

I'm not to big on remixes, i like the music the way it was originally recorded or performed, not remixed, but it could be a good thing i guess, maybe attract newer generations of fans, but its not something i'd go looking for.

Can I just point out to you that as soon as Elvis layed down his vocal track, thats when the mixing and remixing begins !

Elvis was always one for progressing in music, im sure he would be all for remixes as long as theyr done tastfully.

Didn't EP once say that music styles change every 6 months? I'm not saying put a famous rapper on record with EP or try to make him a Hip Hopper. That would not sound right and would get more ridiculed than does the 1977 EP image. But adding a deeper base line and drums and feel to the song only gives it life and brings it back to the public's eye, or in this case, their ear. Just look at A Little Less Conversation and Rubberneckin'. Before the remixes nobody outside the EP fan world knew of these songs unless they saw him sing them in his movies. Now look at them-they are world wide smash hits and modern day classics and kids are dancing to those very songs today-not to Hound Dog or Blue Suede Shoes-but to the new remixes. That's why a remix album is important in more ways than one. It hooks a newer fan base to his legacy and through the remixes they then discover the originals. Just imagine what a good top quality remix of Change Of Habit, Let Yourself Go, or some other lesser known song could do. Possibly many more world wide hits and #1 singles.(y)
