I just heard Be Bop A Lula by Gene Vincent on the '50s satellite radio channel, and it got me thinking. I remember when I first heard that song when I was a kid, and I could've sworn it was Elvis. When my mom told me it wasn't, I didn't believe her. Of course, she had the record to prove it wasn't Elvis.

I can think of 3 songs off the top of my head with artists that sounded like Elvis (not exactly like, but similar to):

Be Bop A Lula by Gene Vincent
Suspicion by Terry Stafford (Elvis actually sung this song, but didn't make it a hit)
I Hear You Knocking by Dave Edmunds (recorded in the '70s, but with a '50s honky-tonk style)

Can you think of any others, and did they at one time fool you into thinking they were Elvis?

Hey "STUD" - yes the singer "Orion" whose real name was Jimmy Ellis sounds very much like Elvis. When he recorded "That's All Right" I think in 1972, many people thought that it was actually an alternate take of one of Elvis' own recordings, not Orion's. Check him out!

The song by Conway Tweety "It's Only Make Believe" way back when used to sound similar to Elvis' style - at least to me.

Ral Donner, I'm also listening to female 50's rockabilly they have an Elvis feel to them. Especially Jean Chapel.

I've always loved the sound of the word rockabilly.. Hehe, they used to call Elvis 'the King of Western Bop' too..

Anyway, there was a song called 'Lonely This Christmas' by a formation called 'Mud', and it sounds like an Elvis-impersonator. Not really like Elvis, but more or less like someone who is trying to exaggarate his mannerisms (a habitual or characteristic manner, mode, or way of doing something; distinctive quality or style)..

I didn't really mind, it was a cute song...

I think Beyonce and Brittney Spears sound like Elvis
