[Jumpsuit Junkie]

As August 16th 2006 approaches its time to reflect on what Elvis means to us all. 29 years later and the Image is still larger than life, the music still as crisp as it was all those years ago.

Its always a sad time of year, but there is so much to celebrate, the legacy still lives on strong and thanks to places like TCB World places where like minded fans can meet up and express how they feel.

I have attached a couple of wallpapers to mark this years anniversary.

I was born on June 5, 1977 in Indianapolis. Elvis' last concert was right there in my birthtown of Indy on June 26, 21 days after I was born. My mom, dad and sister attended the concert. I was only 3 weeks old so they had my brother watch me. Anyway, I've been an Elvis fan for most of my life, thanks to my mother who adored him. Even without my mother's coaxing, I know I'd still be a fan, cuz well, Elvis is the greatest entertainer ever! He means alot to me. I feel like I knew him.

I think a lot of us feel that way, thats part of his appeal. Its also part of why people here get upset when they feel he's been attacked, he's family. With Family you can fight them , but if someone else does you back them up.

I've got to tell you guys this. I'm in Tenn. and on Aug. 16th I was on my way back from taking my grandmother to the doctor, and as I was driving through the cotton fields on comes "American Trilogy". I had six discs in the changer on random and at that moment " Oh, How I wish I was, in the land of cotton" . It gave me chills. I always miss the cottonfields of Tenn. now that I don't live here anymore , and how fitting on that day, that place and that song. Pretty cool!

Thank you. Yeah, I'm originally from Tennessee. I will always feel like Tennessee is home. I can't explain it. It did sort of feel like a "welcome home".
