I Love the Both for sure but.... since he had so many white ones ... and

Of those two, the Red. Of all three matador the Black looked the coolest to me.

I always thought it was cool when he'd come out and be wearing a different color one, other then white. I was more of a fan of his 56 and 68 special style of dressing then the Jump suits. As for the jump suit era though I always thought the American eagle one from the Aloha special was the best of the best, and of the rest in 1972 he wore a few I've seen called the "blue nail" suits,and the "Lucky (aka) Blue Swirl jump suit" , I always thought those colors looked good for him and showed up well on Camera.

I've heard from different sources (can't recall where) that Elvis wasn't very fond of the Red Matador suite..can anyone go into detail about this, if it is true?:hmm:

I've also heard that Elvis didn't like the colour red period but we've seen a lot of pictures of him wearing red and look at Graceland while he was with Linda. :)

Diane, I don't know if he didn't like the color red or if he just didn't like his suites that way...wasn't Graceland was decorated in red in the last years of his life..was that way 'til Priscilla had it redecorated when Graceland was opened to the public in '82.

IMO, Elvis didn't like the suite that well..the Red Matador that is..as he only wore it on 4 different occasions.

I know of the Red Matador..the 2piece Cisco Kid Outfit w/ Red Shoulders..the '76 "flame Suite" was done in alot of red..the Red Phoenix..that's all the red I could find while researching it..

I think you got them all Brad, I can't think of another suit with red. You know, maybe he didn't like the Red Matador because it was all red or maybe it just didn't fit or feel right on him.

I think I prefer the red one:D I also love the white and blue suits he wore but I think red is nice as well...makes it more interesting than all white lol :)

The Red and White Pinwheel aka Matador are one of my favourite designs, It is probably one of the most common designs of all Jumpsuits e.g.

Snowflake aka Spectrum 1971
White Fireworks 1971
White Pinwheel aka White Matador 1971
Adonis 1972
Black Butterfly 1972
Blue Nail 1972
Eyelet aka Porthole 1972
Red Pinwheel aka Red Matador 1972
Royal Blue Fireworks 1972
White Pyramid 1972

All the above Jumpsuits had the porthole/eyelet design on them, from what I can find the total appearances of all these suits is only 45 times! (as far as we know) Some only worn once, others like the White Pinwheel 9 times.

But when you look at the total Jumpsuits & Two Piece for that year being 26 and there were 5 tours and a total of 165 shows it makes you wonder what jumpsuit information we are missing?

Yes, it is and frankly I think he made a good choice of wearing this particular belt with this suit.

Matt,thank you for sending Leroy's jumpsuit list. He emailed it to me a while back and I have it printed out but I'm sure there are quite a few posters interested in having it as well.

I was just hoping that there aren't any unknown jumpsuits out there that Leroy wasn't aware of....fat chance though, thank goodness.:)

It's probably inaccurate that Elvis didn't like the colour red.

He had plenty of red shirts and jackets all through his life.

Witness the TTWII International stage rehearsals. Knowing he was being filmed, I doubt if he'd have worn a colour which he didn't like.

He didn't like the Flame Suit, as he reckoned it looked lousy on him; it looked like he was on fire, he said, with too many flames.

The Aloha jumpsuit beats them all. I have the Nail (Spectrum) jumpuit. It is very nice as well. I like all of his suits though I didn't care to much for the Cape Fringe. Check out B & K Enterprises on line. They make awesome suits taken from the original patterns and designs.
