I'm not sure about groups, but he did admire the work of Olivia Newton-John and Anne Murray.

Ive wondered this for a long while, you can guess some of the stuff he was into it because of what did he recorded during that period. He seems to had something about TOny Joe White, he must have heard "The Three Dog Night" as he recorded "Never BEen TO SPain", he was always a big fan of R&B and Soul music, its been said he liked James Brown so bad that he even wanted to perform with his band.

Two years ago it was anounsed on Elvis news that a magazine (dont remeber wich one) was gonna have on an issue the complet cataloge of the titles that ELvis had on his record collection, this due and EPE periodical research into the sutff at Graceland. I wonder if someone got that issue could put that list in this forum.

I think that EPE backed out on this promise because Elvis' personal music collection would feature very, very little of the contemporary acts from the 60s/70s. Perhaps they were affraid that this would harm Elvis' image as innovator?

Elvis' passion was gospelmusic. People said that Elvis knew so amazingly much of gospelmusic and had a big collection. After Elvis' death they found a record on Elvis' turntable in his bedroom: it was an acetate of the latest record from JD Sumner & The Stamps.
