View Full Version : Would you buy a TTWII DeLuxe dvd-set?

I was wondering while reading the 'Aloha or NBC Special DeLuxe?' topic, if there are still fans out there that are waiting for a DeLuxe treatment of TTWII.

With all VHS-to-DVD releases from the early days of the dvd, MGM promised us an amazing release of TTWII, with multiple angles, new footage, etc. That promise was pretty much watered down until we received the one disc-edition of TTWII that currently we all probably have in our collection. Although it's still a good release, I have the feeling that we should have had much more.

MGM was as much dissapointed with the number of sales as we were with the final result after all those promises.

Imagine a TTWII dvd-release in the same style as the Aloha/68 Special: the original version, the restored version and much, MUCH extras. I'm thinking of some (almost) complete concerts, the dressed rehearsals (Vegas), the rehearsals (MGM studio) and some off-stage footage. And with superb sound.

Question: would you buy this 3/4 disc DeLuxe package for around $49 ?

I paid a small fortune way back for the 20 hours of outtakes and that was for unedited footage.A deluxe official version would be worth whatever they charged for it.A deluxe version will probably never happen though. The new version never should have aired on tv first and it should have had a better publicity campaign. The sales would have been much higher I think.Anybody that calls themselves a fan should have bought the restored dvd when it was released.Only by supporting these projects financially can we hope to get further releases.
