The FTD release 'Something For Everybody' contains some wonderful ballads. IMHO Elvis' voice was at it's all time best when this album was recorded.

Don Robertson composed some of those songs. His album, 'Songs For Elvis' gives insight as to how Elvis probably first heard them.

I am not in any way connected with Mr Robertson.

I just feel that he deserves a mention for some beautiful material that luckily for us, Elvis decided to record.

That looks really good. It's really strange hearing someone other than Elvis singing those songs. Don Robertson has always been my favorite Elvis writer. I also loved his voice during that period.

Don Robertson was also a very influential as a pianist. His "slip-note" style was also adopted by Floyd Cramer.
