Just saw this news posted on ElvisNews.com, and thought I would share it with you all...

According to a post by Ger Rijff on the FECC board he has been reliably informed that the Follow That Dream label has acquired an audio recording of Elvis' final performance on the Louisiana Hayride from December 15, 1956. The only other information currently available is that Elvis' performance of Paralyzed is very audible.

There is no more information available at this time, but here is the song line-up from the concert.

01. Heartbreak Hotel
02. Long Tall Sally
03. I Was The One
04. Love Me Tender
05. Don't Be Cruel
06. Love Me
07. I Got A Woman
08. When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again
09. Paralyzed
10. Hound Dog

If this turns out to be true, what does everyone think?? Personally, I would be anxious to hear this show!! While I am first and foremost a 70's Elvis concert fan, I think it would be VERY cool to hear such a historical show in Elvis' career!! (y)

Yes this really would be very interesting. This and hopefully the show in Pontiac are recordings I would like to hear.

Among the others for FTD to hopefully release

The following were recorded on soundboard or reel to reel;

The following 3 as a box-set: (I can only hope)

Birmingham Alabama, 29/12/76'
Dallas Texas, 28/12/76'
Wichita Kansas, 27/12/76'

and;

Cincinnati Ohio, 25/6/77
Indianapolis 26/6/77 (Rumour has it anyway)

Lake Tahoe, 24/7/71'

From a source that I have all five of the New Year Tour 76 was recorded on on either soundboard or reel to reel. All of his last tour and the last two from his next to the last tour was too (DID THAT MAKE SENSE:hmm: ). There was a bootleg that came out on LP that contain one track from Wichita Kansas, 27/12/76 but I don't remember the name of the bootleg LP.

Getting back to the topic...I made this comment on ElvisNews but will repeat it here...Let's hope they release the performance at the right speed. I don't think I could bear to have more Hayride material released with Elvis singing at "eunuch speed".

This is great news. I hope it is true and FTD does release this, that would be awesome.

Actually it did make sense. Elvis didn't want to go into the studio and record so they thought they might get enough usable material to use as filler in album releases ( and they did, like on Moody Blue) . What I don't get is that RCA had some great studio stuff in the can they didn't use and used some subpar live performances instead, " Unchained Melody" being the exception of course.

I just saw an update on ElvisNews.com that Ernst Jorgensen has CONFIRMED that they have indeed acquired this Louisana Hayride performance!!! :clap:

Ernst also stated that as of right now, they aren't sure when/how they will release this show!! But it DEFINITELY is exciting news that this show will probably be released somewhere down the road!! :)
