What songs do you think that Elvis would have recorded, had he not cancelled the January 1977 recording session? I'm very interested in what he would have recorded. Did the band record any backing tracks during that time? I know some overdubbs were done.

there has been a cd released with 6 demos that Elvis chose to record when he planned to go to the Nashville studios in Jan 1977. its a great cd called 'a cold night in Nashville', and for imagining how he would've sounded, i highly recommend purchasing this c.d
the tracks selected were
By Day By Day
Rainy Night In Georgia
Energy
Thats What You Do To Me
Let Me On
Yes I Do
i think there were also plans to over dub the instrumental track of 'theres a fire down below'. if Elvis had've left these songs that were on the 'moody blue' album:
way down
he'll have to go
its easy for you
he could've made his best album in years! :D

I just got a CD in the mail... It's a new recording of "Fire Down Below" performed by Dennis Jale with Jerry Scheff on bass. It's actually not a bad CD and it's not intended to be an "impersonator" recording or "what Elvis would have done" type of thing.
Below is a pic of Dennis Jale w/ The TCB Band.

Man I would have given anything if Elvis would have recorded "Rainy Night In Georgia". Ive always loved that song so much, and remember Elvis singing a few lines of it on the 1972 documentary.
