An Elvis Movie

Do you think if us fans keep bringing it up, they would finally make a full length movie about Elvis as they did with Johnny Cash? I think it'll be a great idea. I wasn't that satified with Elvis the mini series that was on CBS. They were cool and all but, they only could show so much on TV. And on that Elvis and Me movie that they sometimes show on Vh1, some things bothered me about it. I know that it was based on a book that Priscilla wrote, but do y'all actually think that Elvis "raped" her?:hmm: He didn't seem like that type of man.

"Elvis And Me" was a partial vision of Elvis...just the distorted vision of that woman.:angry:
I haven't seen tha miniseries but I'd like to watch a good movie about Elvis as they did with Johnny Cash...the most important thing is to tell the truth, to be objective.
Well, maybe it would be hard to tell his life in a movie of 2 hours...there are so many things to tell about him, as an artist and as a man...but let's hope...

The miniseries I have not seen yet, but I will. I think its on time, that a really good movie about Elvis Life will be started. I?ve seen the "Elvis" movie from 1979 (with Kurt Russell) and liked it (y)

My experience of these biographical films is not good as the subject be it Princess Diana, Elvis, or whoever are iconic figures and it is almost impossible to recreate that on screen.
Added to that you have to look at who is making the film and what are they basing it on. I recently watched The Life and Death of Peter Sellers on dvd and it painted such a distorted picture of him that was very unpleasant. I`m not saying the man was perfect as I don`t know a lot about him but you knew watching it that it wasn`t a balanced view (although the actor playing him was fabulous).
On listening to the audio commentary by the directors or whatever they claimed he was bipolar and all these things and they`d never even met him.
Apparently it was based on a book about him by someone who`d never met him either and it was very negative and then it was turned into a film where scenes were added on and invented etc until you have such a distorted view its unbelievable.
We are all flawed human beings and they can make you look like a monster if they want to.
The best and the most fair way is to examine all the material on someone and throw everything into the pot and that way you get a more balanced view of someone good and bad.
Too many people in the Elvis World have an axe to grind and are more interested in how they look and the perception of Elvis gets ignored as we saw with Elvis and Me.

I'd enjoy an Elvis movie. :partytime :wiggle: But I think they'd have to find a good actor who looks and embodies the king. Other wise even with a good script the movie would suck.

Yeah, I agree. It's too bad that Elvis didn't get to write an autobiography like he wanted to, because all we have are third person perspectives of him. It makes things one sided. I didn't get to see that movie with Kurt Russel playing Elvis. I should get it one day.

There was this one guy who looked a lot like Elvis. His name is Michael St. Gerald. He used to play in a Elvis series in 1981 and he played in the Jerry Lee Lewis bio movie. It'll be cool if they did do a movie about Elvis they should get him to play it. Though I don't know how he look now
