Do you listen to Elvis EVERY day?

Although I'm a huge, HUGE Elvisfan, I have to admit that there are many days that I don't listen to Elvis music. I often have 'periods': an Elvis 70s period, a 60s period, a soundtrack period, a gospel period, and so on. Those periods are often and mean that I listen to Elvis almost exclusively

I even have periods where I don't listen to Elvis at all: a Four Seasons period, a Beach Boys period, a PJ Proby period, a JD SUmner period, a Cathedrals period, and so on. During these periods I listen rarely to Elvismusic.

So my question to fellow Elvisfans: do you really listen to Elvismusic EVERY day? HAve days gone by that you haven't put in an Elviscd?

There are days when I don't listen to any music, but when I do I might start out with something like the Oldies from the 50's, classic, Wy Judd, I love all types of music... etc., BUT I always end up going to Elvis' music always and stay with his for the rest of my music listening time. Then I want to look at Elvis' on DVD. :lol: Just is sooo much more when you see him singing.(y)

I generally listen to music every day and Elvis is always somewhere in my repertoire. I always start with Elvis and my favourite song of the moment (last week it was "I Really Don't Want to Know"... great song!). I do go through phases where I listen to the same kinds of songs again and again. I find that music, Elvis' in particular, helps me with work- keeps me going!

I listen to other music and artists too (often the Carpenters, Beatles, Patsy Cline, Marilyn Monroe.... and so many more) but always Elvis comes back. I can't help it- I need his music to function :lol: ! I think the great thing about Elvis' music is that it is so diverse- I mean you can have country, rock 'n' roll, gospel, blues, ballards... I could go on and on. So he suits all my moods. Hence, he constantly is listened to. Drives everyone else in the house mad... :blush:

Oooohhh, the Cathedrals.... so smooth. Albert, we have such similar tastes in music. Some of the JD Sumner and the Stamps songs have an Elvis feel. I like JD's solo album from the mid 70's, and also his Final Sessions. Also check out "Walls Of Jericho" from the Master of the Wind project - Elvis could have killed that one!

I have an eclectic taste in music ranging from Duran Duran, (Ordinary World is a classic) Green Day, The Gorillaz, Franz Ferdinand, Coldplay, Maroon 5, Kaiser Chiefs and last but not least the late great John Denver (Looking For Space).

I think everyone should listen to some music every day, it can reflect your mood, enhance it, change it completely. I defy anybody not to be uplifted when you listen to the laughing version of Are You Lonsome Tonight!!!!

For a large period of time I listened Elvis's music every day, but lately there is a better mix. I still love his music/voice as much as I used to but sometimes things happen in your life and that puts everything in perspective. At least that is how it worked for me. Ohter big favos are U2, James Blunt (not for the voice but for the lyrics)and loooooooooooooootsss of others.

Your first post...and I totally agree with you..Elvis is always present in my days and it's really hard to choose a CD everyday.

About your question...well..it's quite difficult...there are so many interesting things and I'd like to have more albums too. Anyway, it depends on what you still have and what you like most.
For example I love home recordings...it seems he's playing the piano next to me..:P and when I find some of them in a CD a get mad!!:clap:

Practically every day, atleast in the last year or so. There have been times in my life where I would go long stretches without listening or watching anything. It always would come up though, when I was feeling a little melancholy or missing home and family especially. I have a lot of memories growing up with Elvis. If I get started, I'll go on forever. What got me going again was discovering that there were professional photos and audio of the concerts my Mom and I went to and so I started researching more and, voila, here I am again, just like I was at 10 years old, obsessing on everything Elvis. What's neat is that I am rediscovering old stuff and lots of things I never was exposed to. So much out there! :cool:

I can certainly understand your comments, when I was in my early teens I bought everything that I could get my hands on lol, if it had a picture of Elvis on it I got it............... Then when I was about 20 I sold virtually everything :supriced: Then from the age of 27 until now I have spent most of my time trying to buy everything back :blush: I don't go in for all the merchandise mainly books, CD's, DVD's and Photographs (y) I seem to be getting clocks and framed pictures again from my family just like I was a teenager........ weird but cool.

Yeah, I'm trying! I force-feed her some times. My 4 year old daughter likes Elvis and she's getting to the point now that she will ask to see a movie or concert ( her favorites are Loving You, she likes the Teddy Bear song, and Aloha which she calls the " white suit " concert. Very cute!)

Because I have Sirius Radio in the car with the Evlis channel, I do listen to at least some Elvis every day. Sometimes its only Elvis all day, then sometimes I'll start out or just finish up with Elvis while sampling other stuff. There are days Friday being one, where I'll turn it on about 2 PM and listen the next 4 hours straight because I enjoy the Friday show the best because of the extra Elvis Talk that goes on around the Music.

I always put on an Elvis cd when I'm in my car driving to and from work.
It's about an hour's drive so that's two hours of Elvis music everyday.

(y) I couldn't have put it better! Some Cds I listen to & it's the same music, different lyrics. I suppose that's what can happen when musicians write their own music. With Elvis it's different music, different styles & all new passion in his voice. And again I say, I love hearing him sing the blues.

Yes, I listen to Elvis every day. When I drive to work I always listen Elvis's music. I don't even have any others CDs in the car. On the weekends I listen TCB radio. So Elvis' music is present in my life every day. Without Elvis, days would be ampty and very sad. Elvis's music gives me an inspiration and energy that I would be able to do the work on job just in time.

I was gone for a week out to the wilderness where electronics were not encouraged. I did take my mobile & my walkman. I've decided to upgrade my mobile to include internet service so that next time I can take my cd player & still keep up the weather (which was not too good) & the news. I listen to Elvis everyday, yes, but recently it has been for sorting out different mixes and takes from my pc jukebox. I also going through the audience recordings, and try to remix them so they sound a little bit better. And if I take a break from this, I'm happy to hear some Elvis tunes.
