HERE IS TWO LETTERS FROM THE COLONEL PARKER` OFFICE FROM A BOX IN MY COLLECTION.
Dear Friends:
You can count on Elvis to come through and he did in a great way in his newest RCA Victor single ``STAY AWAY/U.S. MALE`` and in the new LP album release ``ELVIS` GOLDEN RECORDS-VOLUME 4``.
At this time MGM has released ``STAY AWAY JOE`` and its first showing have brought an overwhelming enthusiastic stamp of approval from the fans who have seen it and they labelled ``STAY AWAY JOE`` a standout picture.
Another event is Elvis` ``HOW GREAT THOU ART`` sacred album being selected by the recording industry as the outstanding sacred album of 1967 and given the Grammy Award. In addition, ``HOW GREAT THOU ART`` is also another gold record award to add to Elvis`s continually growing collection of gold records. Looking ahead to some of the releases planned by RCA Victor in the coming months we can see more golden rays peeking through.
The 1968 motion picture schedule starts with MGM`s ``LIVE A LITTLE, LOVE A LITTLE`` followed by National General`s ``THAT JACK VALENTINE`` and then a return to MGM for a picture as yet untitled.
``STAY AWAY JOE`` will be showing in theatres througout the country now through the spring and into early summer, and will be followed by ``SPEEDWAY`` with Nancy Sinatra and Elvis teamed up ina really dynamic show from beginning to end.
With winter`s snow and cold giving way to spring`s sunshine it`s nice to know that Elvis is there to put the swing in spring.
Best to you from Elvis and all of us.
Sincerly,
Col. Parker`s Office

Dear Friends:
Ever since word got out of Elvis` special recording sessions in Memphis a few months ago there has been a steady clamor for the release of the first LP of this session. RCA has now released this long looked for album, ``ELVIS IN MEMPHIS``. It is a great collection of songs and includeds Elvis` big hit ``IN THE GHETTO``. The first edition copies of this album contain a beautiful four color 8X10 bonus photo of Elvis suitable for framing. His ``IN THE GHETTO`` single moved right up the charts into the No. 1 spot of many of the nation`s leading radio station surveys and has been the subject of many fine articles and comments. More of the same can be expected in coming record releases from this very exciting Memphis recording session.
Inquiries continue to poor in asking for information on Elvis` appearance at the International Hotel. Please direct such inquiries directly t?: International Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada. As of this writing no firm opening date has been announced.
The NBC/Universal production ``CHANGE OF HABIT``, whicj stars along Elvis. Mary Tyler Moore and Barbara McNair has been completed and will be ready for release in the fall. In the meantime MGM is preparing for the nationwide release of ``THE TROUBLE WITH GIRLS`` starting in June. Check your local theatre manager for showing dates of any of the Elvis pictures as they can advise you of their schedule.
Word has been received of convention plans of the Elvis fan club in Scotland, Belgium, Australia, and in the fall in England. Elvis and all of us hope that these events will be of great enjoyment to all those attending and we know from previous conventions that much good has been accomplished. For Elvis, the continuing and constructive activities of the fans are a source of inspiration and a gesture that he acknowledges with deep humility and sincere thanks. He wishes you all good health and happiness.
