:Lighten: Hi everybody!
I want to know your opinion about something I was thinking yesterday, looking the modified picture of Elvis with James Dean.
We already know that Elvis was a big fan of James; he loved his movies and he wanted to become a serious actor as he was. But what about James?:hmm:
If James weren't dead so early, would he have loved Elvis and his music? Would the respect have been reciprocated?
It can seem a very stupid question but I just want to share with you this thought...I like James Dean and I think it's a pity that the 2 big "rebels" of the 50s had never had the opportunity to meet each other...what do you think?

Yes it is a shame, If Elvis had been able to meet him perhaps he could have spurred Elvis to make the Col. get him the roles he was wanting, in the start of his acting career. But the Col. would have tried to limit contact to Dean if he was seen as a threat to the COl. hold. He did this with Leiber and Stoller who had tried to give Elvis career advice and were warned off by Parker.

I agree with you KMP...James would have been a constant example for Elvis ' career at hollywood and I'm sure Elvis would have done different choices for his movies. Elvis had big potential as an actor and many people always said he was instinctive and spontaneous as James Dean!
About music...I think that James would have loved Elvis and it's funny to imagine James playing bongos with him, assisting Elvis shows or raiding motorcycles together!:P ...just a fantasy, but I like to imagine them in this way!
