Was in my local Wal-Mart and decided to check out the music. This is hit or miss and normally miss, as 9 times out of 10 they don't have the music I listen to. I seen Aloha From Hawaii on DVD was there and for some reason was marked down to $19.50. I don't know what it usually costs but at that price I was getting it! Got home, put it up and didn't watch it til this morning due til New Years Eve:) Wow what a great concert! Just wanted to thank everyone who told me to buy it because it was great! I can't belive some people don't think it is very good, but I guess I have seen so little so maybe there is stuff that is better (which I find hard to belive:) ) By the way, what would everyone recommend to someone who loved this concert DVD. Just looking for ideas for my next purchase! Sorry for the rambling.

Thanks for the help Jouni!!
I should have mentioned that Aloha was my first DVD. I almost bought Elvis by the Presley's too, but read a lot of negative things on this board about it so I didn't. Plus it was 20 bucks! More than my marked down Aloha!:hmm:

Tommy,
Yeah his voice is great on the DVD, in fact the audio in general is great! Maybe in the next day or so I will head to Barnes and Noble and pick up the 68' special as I just bought the CD set a couple weeks ago and thought it was great! Might also get That's The Way It Is. Should be set in the DVD department for a week or so lol! Just what I needed, a new artist to become a fan of lol! But seriously thanks to everyone for the great suggetions!

Elvis puts on a singing clinic for the Aloha. Though he made a few mistakes, I loved the rehearsal show equally.

OK, maybe I'm the only one around here who thinks that Elvis' voice wasn't really that great on "Aloha", but in general I would recommend that DVD to everyone. Audio and video are excellent (and Elvis doesn't sing "bad" on every song, but he sometimes sounds strange, at least compared to other concerts) and the set contains the rehearsal show, the main performance, outtakes from the bonus songs and the version of the special that was shown on TV. And Elvis just looked great during these shows! The "Comeback" dvds are equally excellent and if Elvis ever rocked the house (and he did a lot of times), he does it there. Audio and video are as great as on the "Aloha" release. If you don't have much Elvis - DVDs, these two releases are the ones to get!
And by the way: :happy_ny:
I think What Now My Love is a lesson in how to sing for any vocalist of any type music. Trilogy is also great.

"What Now My Love" sounds strange in parts, but "An American Trilogy" is a masterpiece!

I agree about "Trilogy" it truly is a masterpiece! I have heard a lot of renditions of this and I still think this is the best one. Also, Aloha is still my favorite to watch, but the 68 Comeback sitdown segments, and TTWII come in a close second. I like "On Tour" too and would love to see the same treatment "Aloha" got for dvd done to this film. Elvis looks a little strange and unhealthy in the light blue suit concert but looks amazing in the dark blue suit one. I would love to see that concert in it's entirity! Does anyone know if it is available as a bootleg anywhere?
