Elvis World Tour

Lets say you can make a wish about Elvis touring overseas, what year would you chose and which places to go? (You can only make three choices)

My Choices are:

Mid November to Mid Decemer 1957, just after the Hawaii concerts, a TOur Around the United Kingdom a.k.a as England. Elvis Touring the UK right at this point of his carrer would have been inmense, the the fan histerya would have been so big that the Bealtes visit to the U.S. in '64 would have looked pale compared to Elvis visiting the Uk in '57. Some gigs outside the UK could have happened as well during this visit. THen he will be back home for Christmas and the St Louis new year eve concert.

November-December 1970. Take week off for resting after the US November tour and lets travel to go Tour Eurpoe. Apart from keep him away from the needless filtration with Nixon and The FBI, an European Tour right here could have vigorisized him, and keep him happy preventing from his early '71 mild vegas boredoom. This was the challenge that followed after the comback he had lived from the NBC till touring again. THis time the TOur Would cover all Europoe, remember this is ELvis at the top of his game, no need to worry about filling stadiums or auditoriums, people have been waintign this for a long time, people around Eurpoe would get the best of him.

April-May '73, Just after the Aloha show and his typicall season in vegas, this would be the huge World Tour, its time to play Japan, some other countries on Asia, then Australia, South Africa, Europe Again, South America, Mexico, and back on the US with a concert in Memphis. And in top form for the summer Stax Sessions.

Well that would be it if I only have three choices to do, so what do you gals and guys think would have been good for Elvis touring overseas?

I think the best time for Elvis to do a worldtour was in 68. Instead of the movies after the Comeback, they must go worldwide. Elvis The Comeback tour. The whole show in the black leather suit. That would be a great tour, that's for sure. With a jam session all the guys around him and then stand up. I think about this many times, It would be a diffrent way in his life.

After his "Elvis Summer Festival 1970" he should have taken some month off to start a world tour in early 1971 instead of appearing bored and uninspired in vegas. Two years later, after the Aloha special, he could have done a second world tour, the time would have been perfect. Maybe he should have done "A star is born", produce his karate documentary and head for a third world tour. But unfortunately, it wasn't to be......

1969 was a great time for Elvis to have done a world Tour, having done the 68 Special to critical acclaim, Elvis in Vegas in 69 was a rockin time Elvis was still sounding raw with high octane shows will the sit down session still a part of the show.

1970 - That's The Way It Is should have documented Elvis' world tour instead of Vegas.

1973 - Hot on the heels of the Aloha show Elvis should have done a world tour again!

1975 - Elvis was a little heavier but still looked great, this would have motivated him to do greater things

Love the idea about TTWII being about Elvis World Tour! thanks all for sharing this dreamy thing thats being buggin in my mind for a long while; still cant belive that a number as big as Elvis show was never went out of the States except for the small canadian tour on '57, but a... isnt it Canada just that big and lonely part of the US very at the north? just kidding dont take it bad, lived there for a long while, love that country for real, just want to make you piss you canadian fans, you guys are great!
