For those of you interested, there is a great James Dean biography by Johnny Depp on the BBC website.

www.bbc.co.uk\radio (http://www.bbc.co.uk%5Cradio)

You can listen to it online for the next 7 days. Theres a bit about Elvis in it also.

This friday (Sep. 30th) is the aniversary of James Dean death, right? And by the way, I can't figure J. D acting in "King Creole"... but maybe his work would have been awesome. He was such a great actor! (y)

Yeah it's today, and he was one of Elvis' favourite actors. The King had taste..., because Dean is really an unbelievable actor and talent.

Sure! Do you know anything about the new video (or something like it) about J.D? I've heard he didn't killed because of high speed... I heard it was for something else and I'm confused...

theres already been a few things on t.v. about james dean this week ( england )
by the way, it is said now, dean wasn,t actually driving the car at the time of the crash.the new suggestion now is, his machanic was driving and he also sadly died

I saw on BBC News, an interview with the cop who pulled the car that James Dean was in when he died.

The cop said that it was Dean who was driving, and 2 hours later that drunk driver caused the accident that killed James Dean.

Unless Dean changed with the passenger then presumably he was driving, but the crash may not have been averted no matter who was driving, as it was the drunk driver's fault.

Imagine, living with the fact that you killed James Dean. That guy lived for a long time after as well I think.

Drink driving is a heinous crime and should be punished severely. That said, Dean was also a reckless driver. In a way, the men operating both cars were playing with fire.

When the movie was going to star Dean, the character Danny was a boxer. When Elvis became the lead it was rewritten to a young singer. The original book was "A Stone for Danny Fisher"
