WHAT A TOUGH QUESTION TOMMY!!!! :hmm:

There are so many great FTD releases out there....like everyone else, it's hard to narrow it down to just one FTD! So here are a few of my favorites...

* JUNGLE ROOM SESSIONS (personally, I think this one should be in EVERY Elvis fans collection!!)

* IT'S MIDNIGHT (lots of great songs, and Elvis is in fantastic voice! The only drawback for me on this one are the long monologues that Elvis tends to engage in between songs! But if you are looking for a show from 1974, I highly recommend this one over the DRAGONHEART FTD!!)

* 6363 SUNSET (love the rehearsals and TODAY outtakes on this one!)

* SPRING TOURS '77 (I LOVE Elvis in 1977....although his health was definitely an issue, I think he gave some powerful performances during the final year of his life and this CD showcases some of those, in my opinion!)

* ELVIS ON TOUR - THE REHEARSALS (absolutely AWESOME CD...great rehearsals and it is so cool to hear these concert songs without the orchestra...just Elvis and the TCB Band!)

* POLK SALAD ANNIE (Some great 1970 performances!!)

* BIG BOSS MAN (A GREAT 1975 show...Elvis puts on some fantastic performances during this entire Vegas engagement!)

* TODAY (It's nice to FINALLY have the original album, undubbed masters and all available outtakes in one place!!)

* ALL SHOOK UP (One of the best 1969 shows...Elvis is very energetic and seems more relaxed than he did early on in this engagement!)

There you go Tommy....hope this helps you out some in your quest to pick up some more of the FTD CD's!! If you do pick up some more FTD's, I'd love to hear what you think of them!!! (y)

There's, what, almost 50 FTD releases now? I've only bought about a dozen of them over the years, so I've been pretty selective and can only base this on the ones I have. I've been pleased with the *content* of all of them. Packaging, covers, etc., are another story -- but, hey, folks on this site help remedy that.

It's nearly impossible for me to rank them because I love them all for different reasons. If held to the fire, though, I suppose my favorite of the moment is "Elvis On Tour: The Rehearsals."

For one thing, it contains my favorite version of one of my all-time favorite songs, "Always On My Mind." It also has great versions of many other songs, including "Young and Beautiful" and "Separate Ways."

Where, oh where, is the "Elvis On Tour" boxset? I won't buy HITstory (whose title reminds me way too much of Michael Jackson's HIStory), but "Elvis On Tour," I'd be there Day 1.

COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE PALERIDER!!! (y)

ELVIS ON TOUR: THE REHEARSALS is indeed a fantastic CD...one of my all time favorites!! The version of ALWAYS ON MY MIND that is on this CD is also my favorite version of this song!!! I LOVE listening to Ronnie Tutt's drumming, especially toward the end of the song....and Elvis just infuses this version with so much passion, it's just amazing!!! SEPARATE WAYS is also a favorite of mine!!

As for the ELVIS ON TOUR boxset....believe me PaleRider, if RCA and/or Turner/MGM ever get together and release the ultimate ELVIS ON TOUR package, I'll be standing in line right behind you!!! (y)

I think you should definitely have also:

The Memphis Sessions (do I need to say more?)

The Nashville Marathon (beautiful outtakes)

As Recorded Live On Stage In Memphis (if you don't own it)

Many fans are just complaining about the FTD releases. I think they are great. Who else has a complete lable just with releases of their favorite artist? It's just us, the Elvis fans!

I like the re-releases of the original albums very much. You have a nice cover (in a size where you can actually see something), the sound is good and there are some outtakes on top! I'm really looking forward to get all the original Elvis lps in the FTD version. The cds with outtakes are not bad either and as a big fan of live performances the concert cds are more than just welcome.

Favorite Re-Release: Today
Favorite Outtakes : The Jungle Room Sessions
Favorite Live CD : Dixiland Rocks

"Today" has always been one of my favorites albums, so the re-release was very welcome. "The Jungle Room Sessions" prove, that Elvis wasn't just the always drugged worn out superstar. He had certain problems, but he could still sing! And he doesn't act like he was under the influence of something. The "Dixiland Rocks" shows Elvis in a great voice giving a great concert. This day's version of "My Boy" is definitely one of my all time favorite concert highlights!
