My favourite is 'Follow That Dream'...it's Elvis at his comic best.
I watched 'Change of Habit' on the week-end, and I still can't believe they had Elvis singing a song like 'Have A Happy' in 1969......

Well, Carolyn, you've obviously never let your address be Sunshine Place. :sun:
Follow That Dream is definitely among my favorites. It's funny--my appreciation used to mainly be for the dramatic movies like King Creole and Wild In The Country, but I've also really come to appreciate the goofy ones too like Tickle Me, which makes me feel like I'm watching a Scooby Doo episode.
To name a few others:
Fun In Acapulco
Viva Las Vegas (I've watched it too much though)
Clambake
Live A Little, Love A Little
Change of Habit

Loving You (it's almost Elvis playing Elvis)
GI Blues (great humour, songs and story)
Viva Las Vegas (love the chemistry)
Blue Hawaii (the best of the sunny Elvis movies)
These are my favourites. Movies shot on location, with a healthy budget, good story and great songs....

I was about to start this topic as a new thread today but then I searched it out and saw its been done, so since there are some of us new to TCB world I thought I'd bump this up incase anyone else wants to weigh in, or maybe some of the longer forum members wanted to weigh back in.
I quoted Diane list because I'm curious as to her reasons, she has The Trouble with Girls on the list. I've always counted that one as my least favorite Elvis film. I've never seen it listed amung the best. I'm always interested in other Elvis fans opinions on this topic (films) , so Diane if you're still out there what did you see in that film that you connected with as a fan? No wrong or bad answer there this isn't a bash, just a question, because your view may help me see something I haven't before.
Other then that one My favorite ones were the same as yours but I don't have an order placement and I'd bump Blue Hawaii from the top five, in favor of "Wild in the country" which I just thought was a good movie where Elvis got to show off some acting ability that some of the other films didn't (in his opinion as well).
I love the Elvis movies, because though some were not what he liked or could have been its a way to in 2006 , get to still see Elvis entertain.

I have a few favorites
1. Change of Habit (Mostly because he was playing a different role from what he usually plays) (y) (y) (y) (y)
2. Jailhouse Rock (y) (y) (y)
3. King Creole (y) (y)
4. Flaming Star (y)
When I was a kid I remember seeing "Loving You" Or at least that's what I think it was. All I remember about it was that he was wearing that red and white cowboy like suit and my mom started teasing me about liking Elvis. I was about 5 yrs. old then. I would like to see it, maybe it'll make my top five list.
Awickedreigndrop, I always thought that Loving you was one of the better ones, and really the only one where we get to see a sample of how Elvis was when he preformed in the 50s on stage with the movement and such. I also always got a kick out of seeing him come down into the audience while singing in the movie, and seeing him and his Mom and Dad on screen because he got them on as extras for the audience (which you probably knew). The Lonesome Cowboy song you speak of was pretty fun because it was so out of charicter IMO.
