Off course Elena. The book has different chapters. Firts they start explaining about the music on the disc, then they tell something about the pictures. Chapters are:
*Transition: Period from the Hillbilly cat to The Atomic Powered Singer, pictures from Hayride shows, the Dorsy show(17-3) and som classic RCA press photos on december 1 1955.
*Las Vegas: On stage
*Las Vegas: Off stage
*The Steve Allen show
Then one of my favo parts(wish I could have been there when it was all happening)
*Miami:
*Getting ready
*On Stage ( You can feel the energy)
*Dressing room (Just waiting and fooling around)
*Outside (something is in the air)
Then there are pictures from the Love me tender Recording sessions followed by the Love me tender behind the scenes pictures and publicity shots.
Pictures from recording at Radio Recorders and from the 1e Ed Sullivan show.
Then another favo part of mine:
*Hanging out in Hollywood (almost art)
*Followed by at the Theater, some pics with Nat. Wood.
Then the famous pictures from his Tupelo concert, first some backstage then Live: black and white but also some nice colours.
Some pictures when Elvis flew back to Memphis with Nick Adams an som pictures when he stopped by to see Sam at the studio.
*The 2nd Ed Sullivan Show
*Loving You Recording Sessions, Behind the scenes, The movie
*Chicago press conference
*The gold suite
*Jailhouse rock, recording sessions, the movie, publicity shots,
*Los Angeles press conference (he looks so cool)
*King Creole, recording sessions, publicity shots
*In the army now, pics from the last pre-army session on 10 june 1958.

The Concert Years 1969-1977 by Stein Erik Skar is a great photo book. It also has a lot of info on jumpsuits and songs he did during this period. It also has a lot of newspaper reviews from those years.
And Elvis On Stage by Keith Alverson is a great book! Just pictures from the seventies, everything in full color! A great book!

I agree with Sonny....The Concert Years 1969-1977 by Stein Erik Skar is excellent...not just for pictures, but the info too.
The best for me though still has to be Shavers Life Of Elvis Presley....nothing short of AWESOME (y)
Trouble is you have two problems with it...first you have to find one :bash: then you have to be able to afford it

BEST "Photo" books, hands down:
1. "The Life of Elvis Presley" - Sean Shaver.
2. "The Elvis Book" Series (3 Volumes) - Sean Shaver
3. Just about any other Shaver book - all are highly recommended, dare I say, even ESSENTIAL.
I don't consider Skar's book to be a "Photo" book, but it is the definitive book to own discussing EP's Concert Years (1969-77).
All of the above focus mainly on the 70's Elvis.
For 50's content: "Elvis 56" - Alfred Wertheimer.
Anyway you slice it, all are also CLASSICS.

Why are Sean Shavers books so expensive? Is it because of the quality or does he not have many printed?

Shaver's books have always been of very high quality ......... and quite affordable when they are first released. The "Author Editions" are even more limited, of even a higher general quality, and, hence, expensive; they are worthwhile for bibliophiles - some of them are pure GEMS, simply incredible (with some, words fail me).
With the exception of "The Life of ..." (which went into multiple printings due to demand / popularity), his publications are strictly limited runs / one-time-events.
The most expensive books every put out by Shaver are "The Elvis Book" Series. Huge, heavy, ...... unbelievable COLOR publications, every page containing a full size image / explanations of each photograph. Worth every penny, ...... especially in an environment such as The Elvis World where hack products rule. These are the kinds of publications that hardcore fans literally "drool" for. Shaver even states in his "Book" Series that due to the cost of printing them, only hardcore fans will seek them out .... and only a very limited number of fans in general will ever get to see them. This has proven to be the case.
I often say it, because it is TRUE ---> It just doesn't get any better than Shaver as far as photo books go.
The prices you see nowadays with his books bear this out. CLASSICS will always be sought out by hardcore fans. When they are hard to find (because most fans will not part with their copies), ........... the prices tend to be high. Shaver could make a fortune re-printing his publications, but he won't. His books are becoming exactly what he envisioned them as.

RIGHT ON SONNY!!! (y)
THE CONCERT YEARS and ON STAGE are without a doubt 2 of the best Elvis picture books out there today!!!
The accompanying and informative text and concert reviews of THE CONCERT YEARS makes it perhaps the DEFINITIVE book about Elvis on stage in the 1970's (in my opinion)!!
As for ON STAGE, I just haven't seen another photo book where the photos are so sharp and crisp....and best of all, they AREN'T resized like so many other photos in the various Elvis photobooks out there on the market! Each page in ON STAGE contains only ONE photo....which is VERY cool!!
I am with Sonny on this one Elena....if you are looking to buy some Elvis photobooks, you simply can't go wrong with either of these!!
TCB!

Someone said once that buy the whole coffee table is less expensive than buying Sean Shavers coffee table books. I have no qualms about paying for a quality product, and Shavers books seem to be just that, but as the Captain says, finding one to purchase is the hardest thing.
