well people, theres only ONE choice for me.it has to be IF I CAN DREAM,espeicially now we have the new brilliant video from the 68 box set.
the old video was good as well. this HAS and ALWAYS will be in my top 10 ELVIS SONGS
WATS YOUR'ES :hmm: (y)
Yes, Geordie - you're not wrong there.
When the deluxe edition DVD of the 68 Comeback was released a year ago I thought that this would have been the ideal opportunity for Sony/BMG to release a follow-up to the "That's Allright Mama" single in the UK for the 50th anniversary of Rock 'n' Roll.
"If I Can Dream" would have been ideal for the fact that there's that wonderul promotional video on the DVD package plus it goes to show that EP stylized many other musical fields not just R 'n' R.
Other contenders in my opinion, include: "Edge Of Reality", the "Trouble"/"Guitar Man" Medley, "I Got A Feelin' In My Body", and how about the "Rock Medley" from "Live On Stage In Memphis" 74??
Cheers,
NEA.

Maybe it sound strange but I would like to release "The Bullfighter Was A Lady". It's just a nothing song but together with the matching footage from "Fun In Acapulco" it's awesome.
It's a pity Elvis didn't make it to the era of video clips. Although I personally regard "Jaihouse Rock" as being the very first video clip ever been made.

Some cool choices there guys  ...
i would release a special anniversary style EP ... MAYBE 3 SONGS [3 AUDIO
+ A DVD track .
1. If i can dream
2. Promised land [extended mix]
3. Mystery train/Tiger man [soundboard live version]
4. DVD [If i can dream]
hmm .... id buy it :P
Mine would be:
1. If I can dream
2. Talk about the good times
3. Softly as I leave you
Bonus:
dvd of If I can dream or American trilogie (From the Aloha concert)
Be safe and take care
Christel (TCE)
P.s.: Ofcource there are many more song that Are suitable. Like: Help me, Trouble (with the clip of the movie), How the web was woven etc.
I think If I Can Dream would need some new backing if it was to resonate with today'sd audiences. Still, that vocal is stunning - what passion!
TROULBE should be a hit.
How about Just Pretend and I like the idea of Talk About the Good Times Too

And time can do so much. But somethings are meant to be and have value irrespective of aeons. Elvis is timeless in that matter of respect.
Maybe 'Stranger In My Own Hometown' would be a nice choice for a single. I also reckon 'Edge Of Reality' to be really cool. Or how about 'Tiger Man' from '68, especially the 'king of the jungle' aspect appeals to me. I also like the versions of 'One Night' from the comeback special.
Other suggestions:
-My Babe
-Polk Salad Annie
-Talk About The Good Times
-Just A Little Bit
-I Got A Feeling In My Body
-I Can Help
-Promised Land
-T-R-O-U-B-L-E
-For The Heart
-Way Down
I have to agree with others choosing 'If I Can Dream'. Out of these troubled times there is to emerge a New World Order (according to G.H. Bush), but even though that may have already occurred by now, millions are starving and there's a lot of discontent around the world. 'If I Can Dream' may be an ideal song to bring people closer to each other, because if we can dream of a better land where all our brothers walk hand in hand, what a wonderful world this would be, if you understand what I'm saying..!
