First off, my apologies for another thread on needing help.

I have been reading a ton of the past posts and reviews for just about everything. I only recently started to seriously collect Elvis. I would like to get some opinions on what else would be good to get....

Offiicial
1. Suspicious Minds - Memphis Anthology ) This by far has not been out of my CD player in months)
2. Aloha From Hawaii
3. Elvis 56
4. Tiger Man
5. Memories 68 Comeback Special
6. 30#1's
7. 2nd To None

Unofficial
1. American Crown Jewels
2. Finding The Way Home
3. Let Me Take You Home - Memphis 6/10/76
4. Opening Night - Las Vegas 8/3/69
5. Running For President - Charlotte 3/20/76
6. Moody Blue - Charlotte 2/21/77
7. Goodbye Memphis - memphis 7/5/76
8. Run On - Las Vegas 12/7/76
9. I'll Remember You - Las Vegas 9/4/72
10. Adios The Final Performance - Indianapolis 6/26/77

I still want to get the box sets and some of the FTD releases, but will wait for a while.

Any opinions on some good concerts , both official and unofficial would be appreciated....

Darrell

Hi mate,

I thoroughly recommend for you Follow That Dream's "Dinner At Eight" which is the December 13th, 1975 Dinner Show at the Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas - great sound on this one too!

Another nice wee edition from the Follow That Dream label is "Big Boss Man" from Vegas, March, 1975 - a very good, tight performance.

Plus, don't forget coming up on July 1st is the release of another Vegas, '69 spectacular when FTD are releasing the Midnight Show of August 26th, 1969 entitled "All Shook Up". A nice companion piece to this and the "That's The Way It Is" material would be the "Live In Las Vegas" 4 CD Box Set.

Happy Purchasing and Listening!

Thank you for the recommendations....They are much appreciated..

Albert- that is a great thread you linked me to. I think I am going to look for the 3 CD set That's The Way It Is. That one sounds awesome just to hear the mix of the band brought up a bit more than usual.

There are so many CD's for me to even think about . I like so many from what I have read or heard about....

Here's another question - How many Memphis shows were released by RCA/BMG , FTD?

Appreciate all the help
Darrell

I think BMG/FTD only released one show recorded in Memphis and released that one two times.

Fort Baxter has a 2CD named 'Goodbye Memphis' with 2 Memphis shows. Than there's also the 'Hello Memphis' CD released by Rock Legend with the show prior the one used by BMG. DAE has also released a fantastic sounding Memphis show from 1975.

I don't know of any other released Memphis shows

Thank you for the info..

To me there is something special about an artists hometown shows, no matter who the artist or group is.
