Thx for the advice , Ron. Glad you liked the elvis logo i made, i'm pretty happy with the end result myself. I know that the picture on the front cover is and was used before, but for the most people this picture is elvis on tour, that's why i used it. I think i made a pretty decent dvd cover, and it's in my opnion much better that the ones out there (i mean for the dvd's you have to buy) For the text part... i know what you mean! i really like to know how you made the newspaper text (were the text looks like a block), i don't have that function in my program, and if i want to create that ....it always comes out wrong  , so i have to outline it to the the left:'(
But for the thiscover i am pretty happy with the end result :D
And yes these dvd covers are much fun to do!:D ;)

Ron, what i mean, when you look at a newspaper...the text on a newspaper is always in blocks, like your example i attached, in that way the text might not look that messy..

OH, you mean the paragraph thingy, I made a exsample on which one to select to do this. And if your program don't have this function it maybe would be wise to start looking for program called Adobe Illustrator, afcouse Photoshop got this function too but Illustrator is even better for text.

thx Ron! i got adobe photoshop trial version, in the next couple of weeks i get the full version
it's the latest version, but avery diffecult thing to work with...

I agree with Jeanno, but with Ron, too.

Although that particular pic has been used again and again, it's a classic shot that anybody who knows Elvis will identify with On Tour immediately. And it's a rocking image, so I don't mind having it on two or three other covers.

So, I like this aspect of the cover, especially because the hues of the colorized front pic work well together with those cool grey and blues shades which creep on the frontcover from the back. That pic you used on the back is also great and it also fits perfectly into your color scheme. (y)

As for the text, you certainly have to improve that. I am using Adobe InDesign for my texts (and that proggie is unsurpassed in that), but you can also use MS Word and save your file as (or print it into) PDF-format. Then you open that PDF with Photoshop and copy out the text as an image.

Give it a try.

The other thing I would change is the "ELVIS ON TOUR" on the DVD cover spine should be inverted to match other DVD's on a shelf.

. If I remember correctly Steve was the first to use it on a cover design of his many months ago.. (y)

I dident use this on a cover for myself but I dit Coulerise this pic. see my Avatar:lol:

Anyway.....

Nice looking DVD cover,
Every Cover is something different and something special.
Also if the cover is made several times before.

Good work Patrick.

That's a thing I wouldn't change, because this way around is much more reader friendly, as many scientific studies have testified and verified.

However, most American covers have the title the other way around (probably due to those many left-handers over there, who read a bit differently than right handers who are the majority in Europe). Anyway, many European covers come the American way, but I would that Patrick's Dutch version became the standard on this side of the sea. (y)
