Regarding Priscilla's somewhat shocking appearance in the above posted photo:
- This is a person with too much time, too much vanity, too much money, too much superficiality, ............... &, unfortunately, too little self-esteem.
Actually, quite sad when you really think about it.

Priscilla looks more and more like the Joker of Batman: botox overkill.
As far as taping Larry King goes: the USA doesn't start daylight savings time (zomertijd) at the same time as we do, so if they're going to air it soon, you'll have to set your VCR at 4 AM.

I share your sentiments Carolyn!!
I know for sure that Elvis never would have agreed with what Priscilla has done to herself! He liked her the way she was. I think that if Elvis had known what Priscilla was up to he wouldn't been so hurt when they split up, he only would've been disappointed in her and that would have made things maybe easier for Elvis. :D I wished Elvis could speak right now. I watched the Opra programs that were on here Monday and Tuesday. I honestly felt sorry for Lisa Marie. She sure is not close to her mother and if you watched the program on Tuesday it was very apparent to see what kind of relationship they had together. Elvis bought things for Lisa Marie and Priscilla would not let her have them. Lisa asked her mother where they were because she wanted them now. Her mother said she got rid of them (diamond ring & mink coat) Nobody can tell me a 3 or 4 year old would even know what they were. Why take them from her?? Why didn' t she keep them for Lisa Marie?
I would bet that Priscilla never ate a peanutbutter and banana sandwich in her lifel She came from a well to do family not like Elvis. He wanted his daughter to have everything he could give her because he came from nothing and was able to give anything. So Sad!!!!:lmfao:

Elvis was such a simple man of such simple tastes. The fact that he turned into a millionaire at age 21 never changed him in his essence. How many people can you say that about? Have you ever seen those Osbourne kids? Come on...
About Priscilla's looks and everything else she has done these past 3 decades, I don't think Elvis would have much to say. He would probably be at a loss for words.
Or maybe he would just simply confirm:
"Yep. I reeeally should have picked a southern chick..."
Or something to that effect.
Poor Priscilla, though, you know? It's just so many bad vibrations going her way!;)

She wrote Raven for her mother. Seems to me they finally have a good relationship now!
And as the raven flies she feels unwelcome
She?s fallen out of her tree and caught on a limb with silver lining
Her wings uncertain oh but she?s still flying
Yeah little Raven I see you there
Hold your head up now
I wont try to pull your feathers out I promise
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I?ve forgiven you and I?m sorry
And everything till now
It wasn?t that bad really
Beautiful lady
Why don?t you fly with me
We?ll have a chat and a cup of tea
And a long lost need to see who?s really there
And you?ll finally be ok with me
And I?ll hear your stories
That fill your sad eyes
When you had raven hair
Hold your head up high
I know that I?ve been ruthless
I?ve been ruthless
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I?ve forgiven you
And I?m sorry
And everything till now
Wasn?t that bad really
Beautiful lady
Go on dry your eyes
Hey you finally see me, hi
And I see you
And everything till now
Wasn?t that bad really
Beautiful lady
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I?ve forgiven you
And I?m sorry
And everything till now
Wasn?t that bad really
Beautiful lady
The most moving moment, though, may be in ?Raven.? The track ends with a child?s voice.?That?s me at three,? Presley says. ?I?m with my mother. She wanted me to sing into a tape recorder to my dad. I started singing, ?I Think I Love You,? the Partridge Family. And she was upset with me. She said, ?Sing it right!? I wrote ?Raven? for my mom, not even to put on the record. I played it for her in the car and she started crying and I ended up thinking it was emotive enough to put out there. And I didn?t say anything about her on the last record.?

I think Lisa must have been like some of us.
I never got on very well with my mum when I was younger either, but now we are like best friends. It's just a normal relationship between mother and daughter.
When do we ever agree with what our parents told us when we were younger ?
It's only when we get older, then we realise that they were right about most things.

Oh, Cilla! You were a natural beauty - ow how did you have to become a botox overkill like that?
Well, I wouldn't want to bash Cilla, but I think it's sad she's lost her real looks.
It's too bad that all these things (like releasing Elvis In Concert DVD) can only happen in my dreams.. But ah well, she was a fine comedian in the Naked Gun anyway.
She's so funny when she calls Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) 'Funnyface'. Little did she know she would turn out to be a funnyface herself!

Not that I'm waving a flag in admiration for Priscilla...but in show business, that's what it's all about: IMAGE. And she was apparently trying to preserve her image.
Elvis had plastic surgery too--love the man very much but I sometimes wonder if he wouldn't have gone to extremes had he lived longer than 42. I saw concert photos of him after his supposed face lift and his eyes--they looked so different. Not like they used to...and did he really have some kind of nose work in the 50's? I read that he and George Klien had something done together--I can't notice anything...
But the fact is, it's their bodies. They can do what they want. And just as you are all saying how beautiful she used to look, probably around that time she had casting agents or business associates telling her, "you have bags under your eyes," or "you look horrible!" or something...and maybe she fell under that pressure. OR maybe she is vain and had the work done...reading about her whole not wanting to gain weight being pregnant with Lisa because she didn't want to get fat thing...and then saying Elvis said he hated how pregnant women used their condition as a reason to get fat...who knows--I'm not making any sense. But aren't we all a little vain when it comes to certain things? It's just some of us don't have the money to do anything about it...and some people need help because they really don't have anything wrong and it's all in their head.

Well, maybe we are all, indeed, insane! But I prefer to see people having rinkles than seeing a face that somehow looks 'artificial'. It has been said that Elvis had plastic surgery; I thought it was in 1975. True or not that may be, but Elvis didn't have a cosmetic surgery as heavy. I guess we'll never know what Elvis would have done had he turned 60 or so, because, sadly, he died at the age of 42. But of course everyone has the personal right to choose what to do with their body.

(n) I personally think it is wrong to say negative this about someones appearance on a forum or anywhere for that matter. I think priscilla looks good for her age being in the public eye so much puts so much pressure on an individual to look good. And should feel proud of her acheivements both in her personal and professional life.

Agreed.
Well... kind of agreed. I can't resist cracking the occasional joke about someone's appearance from time to time. Typical insensitive bloke. But really, one should use discretion wherever possible, in my opinion.
As for your comments on Priscilla... I TOTALLY agree. Yes, it's plain for all to see that she has surgery, but you know what, it WORKS. She looks amazing. Although there's something to be said for aging naturally, humans have ALWAYS been obsessed with youth and cosmetics. There are a couple of deep-seated ironies here. Firstly, Elvis wasn't averse to cosmetic alterations himself (teeth capped, hair dyed, bags under eyes removed, potentially had a facelift), and secondly, more and more people are having cosmetic surgery of some form each and every year; no doubt some of the people who lay into Priscilla are or will be among those numbers.
As much as I do think Priscilla may have some issues with mortality, it is again hypocritical and two-faced to criticise her so severely when Elvis gets a free pass. In fact, I'm sick to death of hearing from fans who see Elvis - a man with a multitude of faults - as this sun-kissed, can-do-no-wrong earth angel and Priscilla as an evil, greedy, manipulative ice queen. As if! Everyone is a mixture of good and bad. If fans get annoyed at constantly seeing/hearing Elvis reduced to a cartoon character by the world media, then they should stop so blatantly doing the same to Priscilla. Until then, they're a bunch of hateful hypocrites who are unable to practice what they preach.
Lastly, one must consider the influence Elvis had on Priscilla's psychology and the partial responsibility he therefore bears on why she is as she is. In her book, "Elvis and Me" (a complete work of fiction to some fans), Priscilla describes how Elvis would tap her - quite forcefully - on the head if she didn't even LOOK at him the right way. Apparently, he was teaching her how to fully express her beauty or some such. He was also known to be thoroughly opposed to women in his household not being properly presented or walking around without makeup. He really had some nasty traits. Is it any wonder Priscilla is the kind of person she is today?
I'll say this for her: She didn't take Elvis' cheating lying down and managed to assert her individuality and get the hell out of Graceland for the good of herself and her daughter. She also (very rightfully, to my mind) raked Elvis over the coals for her share of the divorce proceedings. When someone has treated you and cheated on you in the way that Elvis did to Priscilla, I can hold nothing against a strong woman who gets herself clean away and then demands her rightful share. If there's anything I consider a low blow, it would be Priscilla using Elvis' surname to further her own career. Then again, Elvis basically ran and controlled a significant chunk of her life (the all-important teenage years)... so perhaps it is still morally right for her to make the most out of her connection with him.
OK, so in conclusion, perhaps I am pro-Priscilla whereas some fans are anti-Priscilla and the truth lies in between. Fair enough. But I'll leave you with this final thought: If Elvis were still alive or if he's watching from wherever he might be, I'm sure he would be absolutely livid that so many people could talk so harshly and so cruelly about the woman he was once married to and the woman that carried and nurtured his one and only child.

Yes, it's plain for all to see that she has surgery, but you know what, it WORKS. She looks amazing. In the past week I've skimmed quite a few boards outside the 'Elvis world'. I'd been searching out the Oprah episodes & transcripts, the miniseries commercials that have been airing, the Letterman episode and Stern show, plus get a feel for how Lisa is being viewed based on the appearances and new single.
What I saw on a wide variety of Oprah, tv, music, talk show type-boards were hundreds and hundreds of posts from average tv viewers who were aghast at Priscilla's appearance. So much so that it's really overshadowed Lisa and her music and IMO has damaged her promo run (which is why I bothered to respond). When music boards linked to Lisa's album have 150 messages about her mothers face and 5 posts about Lisa, Lisa's team is NOT getting the attention they wanted for this album. I hope the Ellen appearance will at least get some focus back on Lisa.
The general public is clearly not finding Pris to look 'amazing'. I wouldn't even repeat most of the descriptions I read. The 'kindest' ones are on the official Oprah website and even those are brutal.... for pages and pages and pages....

I wonder how Elvis treated Priscilla - in the Larry King broadcast she said Elvis was also a wonderful husband, very loving. Isn't it true that Elvis was really just a shy and friendly guy - that the real problem was the fact that all kinds of people were taking advantage of him? I'm sure I'd also lose my temper, walking in his shoes.

I'm sure I'd also lose my temper, walking in his shoes. He also seemed to have fairly narrow and rigid expectations of women and their 'place' though, by numerous accounts. I'm not sure how much of it was traditionalism and how much was insecurity - likely some of each. And it was probably heightened by having the MM around all the time too, since Elvis seemed conscious of whether he appeared 'manly' in front of the guys.

I've always thought that, too.
The chapter on Elvis and June in Guralnick's "Last Train To Memphis" is VERY revealing.
The ironic thing is... Elvis was NEVER one of the lads and never would be. He had to compromise his own integrity and the women he was with in order to acquire the illusion of full-blown acceptance, but at the end of the day, he was still the frequently shunned and misunderstood loner from Humes High. Somewhere deep down, I think Elvis knew this.

I guess that Elvis was capable of making mistakes - he was a human being after all. But I guess the good outweighs the bad, in his case. It's important that we also keep in mind the positive charateristics of Elvis - Cilla does this also, according to her Elvis was a wonderful man - and great men don't just come falling out of the sky (quoted from the Naked Gun 33 1/3).
I love Elvis! Of course, he was very 'different' and discriminated because of it - but this 'being different from others' was also his geniality.

I *personally* think that she should have tried aging a bit more gracefully - like film actress Mary McDonnell, say. Considering how fantastically gorgeous Priscilla was before having any surgery, she could have pulled it off with ease. But, you know... I still think that is one of the most convincing and least incongruous anti-aging looks that I have ever seen. Bravo to Priscilla!

But don't forget... Billy Smith, with others in agreement, telling that even after Elvis had gained much weight, he'd look in the mirror and say "I am one good lookin' son of a *****!". I love that he'd say that. I smile to myself every time I imagine him doing this. I wouldn't really characterize this as conceit though, just a proclamation of the truth! lol

Yeah, well... Who would ever have disputed it?
There are only a handful of pictures (mostly from his final years) in which I would say Elvis doesn't appear all that good-looking. But I have seen, quite literally, well in excess of 1,000 photos.
Priscilla and others have also said how he was actually much better-looking in real life than in 2D pictures. While I don't dispute that assertion at all, I find it hard to imagine!
