We had a big discussion about "The Lighthouse".

Did Elvis sing this song, or was it just a "listen to my favorite song"-thing with this recording?

Well, Elvis certainly attempted to sing it!

It's available as part of a gospel medley on several import cd's...

It's on "The Complete On Tour Sessions Volume 3" and it's on one of the newer releases: Elvis & Friends - Unplugged, which will be added to our import section tomorrow.

i thought it was one of the stamps who sang the song during on tour. i'm not sure if elvis ever sang the song himself though

On one version The Stamps sing, on the other (short) version, Elvis takes care of the lyrics...

No, it wasn't in the On Tour film, Richardo, that's right.

Though until now just the audio has surfaced, I'm 100% sure that there's also video footage of that gospel part.

Maybe when they decide on the On Tour DVD release we might get to see al this great studio footage!
