Greetings, Hob,
The above item is a reproduction - period.
EP's credit card was bought @ auction & the new enterprising owner concocted this scheme - using "vintage" material - to create a semantically dubious "original EP-owned" item.
The owner does such things because:
1. They are unscrupulous, & can count on naive / unskeptical fans to purchase, ....
2. They are recouping their investment costs.
Ironically, they are also devaluing the very item they bought in the first place.
"Greed", for good & bad, will forever haunt EP's legacy.

heh I thought it was probably just junk
Mind you I didnt pay for it, it was in a book I bought a few years ago :)
Would be  to have an EP owned item, but I geuss even the most trivial ones probably go for big bucks? Plus theres soooooooo many rip off merchant gits about these days especially with this ebay thing

Hob,
Just to clarify:
It's an interesting novelty piece (the receipt), so long as it is not misrepresented / sold as something it isn't.
---------------------------
There are various degrees of "relics" / artifacts as associated with EP. The closer / more signigicant / high-profile the item to EP during his life ......................... increases the price proportionally.
There are also many peripheral items or multiple originals that, to varying degrees .............. are generally more affordable for most people.
---------------------------
E-bay is not the place for a novice / newbie fan or collector to venture without experienced supervision (if you will). ;)

That would make a great signature.
BTW... Capt El, I've been wondering. And I apologise for the digression, but... why the emphasis on Hawaii with the signature you have...? :hmm:
