Young & Beautiful -Performed Live in 1972?

After seeing that Elvis actually practiced this song in early 1972 leads me to question if this song was ever tried on stage during the April tour of the same year? My reason(s) for asking this is there are a few shows )that to my knowledge) a song list hasn't been published.

Also, I have read in a few of the Concert books that Elvis did sing this song in Las Vegas during one of the shows from the Jan-Feb 72 engagement.

Does anyone have any knowledge of either of these statements being true? :hmm:

Not that I am aware of Big Boss....although I thought the same thing based on how polished the rehearsal of YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL is on the ON TOUR REHEARSALS CD!!

I don't believe Elvis ever performed the song live in 1972....I know he did try it a couple of times in concert in 1976, but those are the only ones that I know of!

But I don't have this live version in 1972 on CD.

Elvis performed the song partly during the November 12th 1971 Houston show. Probably this influenced him to rehearse the song for the next tour.

I thought the Piano styling on this rehearsal version was very similar to the " Welcome to World" : was this also try out for the " Aloha" ? Sad we dont get the rehearsal atomosphere of say " Brightest Star on Sunset Blvd".

Incidently,I thought the back cover of the ontour was atrocious ...even I could have printed just those tracks lists a little better. Still the music is outstanding.

I guess we won't really know until some more recorded material ever surfaces from the Jan/Feb 72 Las Vegas engagement, and the other shows from the April 72 tour. :D

I forgot about Elvis' performance of YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL during his August '75 Las Vegas engagement....during the so-called "Request Box Shows". Sorry about that... :'(

SONNY - Thanks for the heads-up on the information from THE CONCERT YEARS book...I'll have to dig my copy of that book up and check that out....I didn't realize it was listed in there as being performed in 1972! It certainly would be interesting to hear it performed on stage....especially if it sounds nearly as beautiful as it did during the rehearsals on the ON TOUR CD!! (y)
