One of our fellow moderators, the most active moderator on TCB World, our dearest friend Tommy, suddenly passed away on November 13th.

TCB World will never be the same without him.

His kind ways, his humour, his understanding, his friendship...

He truly was a wonderful human being, and he will be so missed by everyone.

May you rest in peace my dear friend, all my thoughts are with you, and with your family and relatives during this difficult times.

Tommy was a tireless member of the moderating team who will be sorely missed. This news is just terrible. I just recently spoke with Tommy over email and it was typical that he never mentioned that he was unwell, he always put others first and seen the good in people.

Tommy loved Elvis, he would share this enthusiasm tirelessly, he would share everything he had and was a perfect gentleman. Even when Tommy and I disagreed he would be the statesman, he would email or PM, he never wanted a dark cloud to hang over a situation.

Tommy's love of Elvis shone through his moderator duties on TCB-World, sharing his photo's, stories and his limitless time, making sure that the message board was running the best it could.

People come into our lives and people leave, I'm glad that Tommy came into our world because he leaves it enriched with fond memories.

The passing of Tommy leaves the Elvis world poorer and TCB World will NEVER be the same.

Rest In Peace Tommy, send our best to Elvis.

Can't believe it, this is so unexpected. I didn't even know he wasn't feeling well!
It's usual to say nice things about people when they pass away but in this case we all know everything that's been said here about Tommy it's true. I don't think I've ever known anyone as friendly as he was on a message board. He was extremely kind and always wiling to help everyone. Many times I logged in and the first thing I saw was a message from Tommy, even though I don't visit as much as I used to. I'm sure going to miss him.
Wherever he is now I hope he knows how much we appreciate his dedication to this place and his love for people he didn't even know in person.

Thanks for sharing your memoires Rams! We were not "close friends" with Tommy, he even closed some of my threads. But I remember he tried to cheer me up many times with some Elvis pictures on my page. He made my avatar picture as well. I remember once I asked him if he knows the lyrics of a song. Cause I liked it and I haven't found the lyrics anywhere on net. So I thought I'd ask him as his mother language was English. It was two years ago, in 2010, at Easter. At the end the "thumb up" sign what he never forgot. It's strange to read it back now. :'( :'(

Hi everyone,

Since we all know how much impact the loss of our dear friend Tommy has on this board, on the moderators and on you, our wonderful members, I felt like starting this thread. In one of the other threads about Tommy I said, I will share some memories.

I only wish I had more.

Back in late 2004 when our site was growing, and the gallery became almost to large to handle, along with other aspects of the site, we decided we wanted someone new to help us. But we needed a guy that would fit in our group of guys running TCB.

Tommy already was a member and we read and saw what he did. Back then, I ran the gallery mostly, together with Steve.

However, we wanted Tommy to join us. Not knowing if he even wanted to be a moderator of course.

I wrote a message to him (of which I wish I still had it, along with his reply, which I do not) in the message I complimented him on his knowledge of pictures, and the way he spoke, and reacted on the board. And on behalf of the entire TCB team I asked him if he wanted, or liked, to be a fellow moderator.

His reply was in the way we all came to know so very well over the years. He was like, wow, this is something! Thank you so very much, I would be proud to be part of your team, and to contribute anything to TCB World.

The love for Elvis, and already back then for TCB World spoke from that very message.

Not much later he became our fellow moderator.

And what a job he did. Look at the amount of messages he left, the pictures, the artwork, his loving and caring messages to each and everyone of us.

My memories are he was always there for me, we laughed, joked, talked serious stuff.

I like to give one example that comes to mind.

We always said to each other in messages, dear Tommy, dear Rene, dear friend. At one time I typed this, take care my dear friend.
He replied with, and you dear friend, but I am not gay hahaha

I remember how he loved working in his garden, and he would tell me how lovely the weather was, or whatever it was that was on his mind at the time. Simple things, making the garden ready, or just messages asking me how I was, and how my mom was doing.

When my dad passed away in 2008 he helped me a lot, and I chose Stand By My for that clip I made, because he loved it, and knew what it meant.

One of Tommy's last messages to me ended with: take good care of yourself, I think about you always.

I will stop now, because this does not makes me a whole lot happier, but I wanted to share. And maybe some of you have memories of our Tommy.

My fellow moderators, Tommy's friends, are not over this terrible loss, and most of you aren't either I am sure, not for a long time.

I met Tommy 06-10-2008.
We exchanged polite greeting.So began our friendship.
Rene is not a man, I will not explain why we wrote to each other 'dear'. We just liked to feel in themselves soul mates.
Music - he loved it create, painting, my passion .... Nothing more, nothing less.

It was the same between us, Rene.

Always remember the anniversary of the death of my twin sister ...
It was very important for me, few people know what a pain ..

Thank you Rene for making this thread. My memories of Tommy are very positive, over the years Tommy has been the soul of TCB, always the first to greet, the first to extend a helping hand. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Tommy, he would make it his primary focus to ensure that everybody was looked after. I never heard Tommy moan about his duties as a moderator. Tommy had a strong sense of moral integrity which shone through in his day to day communication.

Even us moderators have up and down days, more than anybody Tommy maintained a high presence on the board which meant the members were in safe hands.

It is very strange here without him, not sure it will ever have that same feel around here...

Wonderful memories, thanks for posting them. Tommy would from time to time "pm" me. Always referred to me as "friend". Usually just something simple like, hope your having a good day, week etc. We never met or did he probably ever know my name. Strange thing though, somewhere along the way you forgot you didn't really know each other but were friends. Rest in peace Tommy.

Tommy was always there for so many of us. He seemed to sense when someone needed a kind word from a friend, encouragement or just plain, "hi, how are things with you? He told me he loved that national park near Mount Katahdin here in Maine and when I go there I will try to see what he saw with his eyes and think of him there pointing out all the beautiful sights of nature.

When I was in hospital , something happened with my phone and I could just send empty emails , it was no problem for Tommy he just said to send him one empty emial for yes and two for no , and that's how we spoke everyday till I get back home . No matter where I was , am I was good or bad , in times of sorrow or happines Tommy was there .... I never felt lonely with Tommy as a friend . And it was so big joy to being able to share with him everything. It's hard to imagine this Christams without Tommy , he had so much Christmas joy , he learned me to love Christmas again ......
For Tommy never was matter where you come from , are you rich or poor , anything but your heart , he always saw in people only good . Thanks to him everone here was feeling warm and always welcome . It's never be the same place again ...... Miss you dear friend!!!

I didn't know Tommy personally, but knew him more as the man who posted really, really nice pictures of Elvis here and went out of his way to do so in great volume, with excellent shots. Is incredible how times goes fast. I met Tommy several years ago but he became such a kind and special friend that I felt I knew him just yesterday. He always have something to cheer me up. We shared memories, pictures, stories of our personal lives and family. He was always there to help and maintained a friendship out of TCB.
I don't log in to TCB as often as those 2000 early years. I went thru a hard time since two years ago and yet now is taking me an effort to feel emotionally better. Tommy was always there by mails until I lost contact past August. I left behind my mails, Facebook, blog, everything. Now I receive this notice on a moment I was on my way to feel like coming back...
Is sad that Tommy is not in this world anymore but he is in another place in peace. I will miss his support and the usual message I used to receive anytime I logged on TCB: "nice to see to here my friend" as well as the kind memories we used to share and a project we left unfinished.
I have nothing more to say but thank you Tommy for you friendship and for cheering me up always. May you have a beautiful place to rest up above in heaven close to Elvis. Thank you for being a very special friend and consider me as a friend too. Receive, wherever you are, a kind hug like the ones I always used to send by mail.

Always, though recently he felt very bad could comfort others. He was a very private person.
Tommy not like to write about his family. But was able to read and respond to anyone who needed it.
He (as Elvis, had a lot of problems).
Not wrote about it to people, whom he did not know very well but ....If you have already earned his trust , that was it!
I think that, without his aid I does not advise to deal with many problems.It's sad, but you wanted Rene, real memories. Am I right?
