I read somewhere else that in other countries the songs that were cut out were in the movies. Someone said he saw "Suppose" and "Five sleepy heads" in Speedway and "Steppinī out of line" in Blue Hawaii. In which countries were the movies released with all songs and did anyone see them? And if someone has all moviesongs in the movies, could you please upload the songs that were cut out somewhere?
I do recall Five Sleepy Heads when I saw Speedway at the drive-in in 1968.
But what happened to that scene after it was first run..... I do not know.

Interesting! since I was born in 1980, I do only know the current versions in VHS back in the 80's, and then the current DVD's/Blue Rays.
I guess that some 10 years from now, many younger fans might just asume Don't Be Cruel was always the opening song for Elvis on Tour.
I do recall that the mid 80's VHS of Elvis on Tour had a few different camera angles in certain scenes compared to the VHS reissue of it in the early 90's, which is the same one we have now in Blueray except for the Don't be Cruel intro. I wasn't around in '72 so I don't know further than that.
"Steppinī out of line" in Blue Hawaii, "Youīre The Boss" in Viva las Vegas, an "alternate ending" for Wild in the Country, there are many cases like that, in which I have read in books about the movies and so, that the scenes were indeed filmed, but cut out in the final print. But to be honest this is the first time I've hear about those scenes actually being released at some point.
Iīm sure that if movie studios would ever allow access to their archives as RCA does for the fans with FTD, a few nice surprises would be there for us, and that aside the TTWII and On Tour footage.
Great thread starter Nicole! this is a a topic no too often disussed.

I also remember in the documental "Elvis in Hollywood: the 50's", some unreleased short scenes from Jailhouse Rock where released there. I know not all Elvis movies worth much outside Elvis fans. But those few classic ones as Jailhouse Rock or Viva las Vegas or Blue Hawaii, does sure deseve to be released with extras like that and all at some point, and not just repacking them over and over.

Britches and Summer Kisses Winter Tear were recording for Flaming Star i think it may have been shown to preview audience. The alternate tilte Black Star was also recorded. Lonely Man and Forget Me Never were cut form Wild In the Country. Danny and Hard Headed Woman I believe were meant to be in King Creole. A Whistling Tune was originally meant to be in Follow That Dream.
I got my info some of my info from here http://movies.elvispresley.com.au/

Suppose and Five Sleepy Heads were in the movie Speedway when it was released. In later years the two songs were still on an old VCC videotape I rented. I'm not sure why those song were cut out later and never shown again.
I also happened to see the uncut Charro! in those days, with the complete bar and bathscene, and some additional close ups of the scene where Elvis gets branded.
Sound Advice from Follow That Dream also is a song that was cut in several countries, but is added in some European DVD releases.

I am sure I saw Five Sleepy Heads at the drive in and recall being surprised when it was not in the TV version and in the first VHS I got of the film.
Suppose may have been in it also and I just do not remember it-but the Sleepy Heads song I definitely recall.

Why did they cut out "Five sleepy heads" and "Suppose"? I donīt understand that. I wanna see it, too. Do you think they will ever release everything that was filmed?

If it was in the film when it was released, I imagine someday it will find its way back onto a DVD release.
In the 90s "Kissin Cousins" VHS release they left out the song "Smoky Mountain Boy" that Elvis sang as the Army caravan was driving up the mountain- the DVD version I now have has it back in the film...so hopefully anything like that they still have may eventually make it to some form of release.

Iīve already looked for "Five sleepy heads" and "Suppose" on youtube, but didnīt find anything. But I donīt know if I could find it if it is on youtube, because in Germany it only shows the videos that arenīt blocked, and most of them are.
