Interesting, I am planning to go to Memphis for two days during Elvis week. I have looked at the Madison and the Westin on Beale. It is strange that some native to Memphis want to distance themselves from EPE. With the crime rate, terrible education system, and general mass exodus most are making from Memphis to surrounding towns they had better not forget why people bother to remember their city. I am from Kentucky and plan on moving to a Nashville suburb after graduation, but I have never considered Memphis because of it's negative attributes. If EPE does want it plans on doing and working with the city to renovate the area surrounding Graceland, many more tourists will feel more welcome to visit. I know I will.

Memphis has some serious issues. Far worse than just bitterness towards a "dead racist white man" as they see him. I used to live there and the problems drove me away. Let's just say that Memphis as a city is lost in time (racially) and because of it has watched the rest of the world pass it by.

I hope to get to memphis for elvis week in a few years, at this moment its just to expensive to go from holland to memphis

This looks like a very nice and stylish hotel makeover. Maybe it's the sign of great things soon to come in the Graceland area.(y)(y)

i am thinking to go there by Christmas, if not this year ...the next, its quieter and love the lights .. , my significant other cant go, so i am still looking for a friend to go there with... :D
