Elvis was what every woman wanted to have and everything a man wanted to be....

There are tons of men that probably have a better looking face (symetric, better teeth, better skin, etc.), but it's the smile that makes Elvis magic I guess (saying that as a normal straight guy). Many people around Elvis said that Elvis had that special thing that made you wanting to be around him. Others said that Elvis gave you the feeling that he really liked you, that you were special.

I guess that such a great personality and charisma is visible through the smile and the eyes.

I guess I have to disagree that there were/are men with a better face. Elvis looked like a greek god or an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh...I know what you are trying to saying Albert - but if you ask most people even those who knew Elvis, he was the best looking man that they had ever seen... he was stunning and his presence was only enhanced by his Charisma. he was a prince from another planet but a King on ours...

True, it has actually been documented by serious i.e. unbiased (thus not Elvis fans) historians that Elvis' features eerily resemble those of ancient sculptures and prints, weird but true. The man had a perfect profile.:jawdrop:
Add to that his interesting ethnic mix (olive skin in combination with light eyes, high cheekbones, wide yet sharp nose, long eyelashes, full lips) that only completed his unique, exotic look (y) :wub:

But what truly made him so irresistable, in my opinion, is the fact that his gorgeous looks exuded both innocence and danger. He looked like an angel on the one hand, and very, very dangerous on the other - verrrrrry intriguing(sp)

A females perspective....well here goes...
Elvis' looks were indeed quite unique, but there was something else that no-one has had since. The word 'charisma' has been thrown around, but it doesn't quite get there as far as Elvis is concerned. Elvis was the whole package. He could make a girl sink to the floor just by a look, or even a glance. I love watching the man move, whether its on stage walking towards the Sweets during Suspicious Minds, or lazing on a surfboard in Blue Hawaii. As far as being a female Elvis fan, it's probaly a bit difficult, because Elvis is the yard stick to which we tend to measure any other man we meet. And no-one quite measures up. To all the husbands and partners of female Elvis fans, don't feel badly, because you have been chosen as the next best thing, and thats a pretty mean feat. Elvis must have been a photographers dream, even the candid pictures are fantastic. To see the way his eyes lit up when he was with Lisa, or to watch him concentrating on a song or music is as exciting as watching him on stage or in any of the movies. The best way to describe Elvis is to allow him to have the last word.....'so I just keep singing the song'......EP

I'm a happily married man and openly admit that EP was the best-looking guy I ever seen. My wife (who's really not a fan) says "his face was flawless". I think about the interview he did from Graceland after coming back from the army and how beautiful he looked, you know the interview where he mentioned the upcoming Sinatra show. Then in TTWII where he and the guys were sitting around the laughing toy before the show, he was tanned, fit and looked unbelievably great.

"His skin glowed, and his eyes had a shine to them that I had never seen before or since in any person?s eyes. I was never able to get a photograph of him that did him justice. I have never had anyone who ever saw him in person tell me they thought the real Elvis had been caught on film.....Here was perfection in the male face. Elvis looks almost ethereal in publicity photos from Harum Scarum. Maybe it's his skin tone, expression, clothing... or something else.

I do happen to think he was one of - if not the - best looking men in the world. I also think a key ingredient to his looks was the absolute intensity of his features with which he could instantly wax from a look of "I'm gonna kill you" to "Are you enjoying yourself as much as I am?" and anything and everything in between. He had it all. He could also dress up in anything and it totally worked for him - denim trousers, silk shirts, velvet jackets, sparkling jumpsuits, cowboy outfits, doctor's uniforms, jogging tracksuits... absolutely anything. I don't know a single other person on the planet, past or present, who has the range of looks and styles that Elvis did whilst still managing to look infinitely cool, alluring and 100% individual.

But still, if there's anyone that comes close to the "Greek god" aspect of Elvis' looks, it must surely be Christopher Reeve as Superman. Although the comparison is in many ways like apples and oranges, he DOES give Elvis a run for his money in his peak:

And, speaking as a Priscilla basher :rolleyes:, I never question her "love" for the iconic Elvis. She's always first in line in interviews to describe his impossible good looks, his legendary kindness and generosity etc.
However, in her book (and for instance a subsequent interview on British TV with Terry Wogan in which he had her pinned within two minutes as her verbal answers seemed to contradict what she had written) she often was contradictory about Elvis and her relationship, and her actions since the divorce often prove the reason for her continued interest in promoting Elvis the icon, the legend, as purely self serving first. I'll never stop repeating her interviews from 1976 in which she clearly distanced herself from the Presley name and wanted to be known as Priscilla Beaulieu. :!: Shortly after he died shen became Beaulieu hyphen Presley and the longer he was dead the more she became solely Presley again. (n)

I totally agree Elvis was the most beautiful (handsome does not suffice to describe him) human being, and certainly man I have ever seen. Considering the fact that I, nor any other one of us, have actually seen the entire world population, however, we still have to consider the fact that maybe somewhere in some poor, small, forgotten town in nowhereland on this planet, there may be an even better looking guy whom we'll never know about as he may lack the talent to bring him up and out from the obscurity of poverty that he may be living in now ;)
That said, Elvis is not the only person in showbiz who was not exactly photogenic as compared to what he looked like in real life, face to face. I know from several other stars, both male and female, that such comments were - rightly so - made, that photos or screen appearances did not do them justice compared to what they look like in the flesh. (y)

Indeed Christopher Reeve in his Superman days was a spectacular specimen of a man. His impressive physique at 6'5", 200 pounds helped a lot in completing that gorgeous image, too (y) However, what was off in Christopher I always found, was the fact that he had such thin lips. :blink:

I'm extremely sad about what happened to Christopher and that he had to die so young after so many years of hardship. Still, had that horrible accident not happened to him, his lips would have been the first thing that would have ruined his looks, as lips only get smaller with age and in his case would have virtually disappeared :blink:
