Brian, it's titled "Elvis Presley - Live". Sounds to be a new production and not the same ETC production that has been touring since 1998. Besides, EPE couldn't make such a guarantee considering the ages of the participants for ETC. I'm wondering how many will even still be alive by then? It will be interesting to see what it will be though.

Hi Viva,

I would not be surprised if it were similar to that performed at The Orpheum last August. As you say, it will be interesting to see the cast line-up and the songs to be included.

I don't have much interest in seeing performers not connected to Elvis and a video of Elvis that i can watch at home.

What about the 'concert atmosphere' Rick?

I know where your coming from, but it's electric being in a huge arena with 10,000+ fans all screaming for him..........

I saw it in Memphis in '97 and loved it and then went again first time it came to Australia and while it was still good it didn't have the same feel for me.
Can it still fill a 10,000 seat arena? It would be nice if it did

Hi Rick,

I guess the following answers your question:

It is estimated some 16-18,000 fans were present at this 20,000 seat Arena.

I can't see this show continuing much longer with the original band. Those guys have got to be 70 to almost 80 by now! :supriced:

Yes I agree, but I will tell you that when I saw the show in Memphis this past August I really forgot about watching whoever was on the stage. All I was watching was Elvis on the screen. It is cool to see the original band members but I think the show can still be successful with new band members.

This is an older thread of course, but why wouldn't they perform when they feel up to it?

Cliff Richard still does, The Stones are considering a new tour. Anything is possible.

Last time they toured the UK, Newcastle was missed out. Too far to travel to the other venues, so was really disappointed.
Would love to see it again, it is a fantastic concert!!

agree 100%......its all about Elvis for me on that big screen. I don't watch the musicians, its all about HIM on that big screen and the shouting/screaming and clapping of the people in the audience for HIM

Seen it twice, once in NYC and then last year in Memphis. A lot of the musicians and singers were new. The rockabilly band was great and the gospel choir was AMAZING. Thank God they used better quality screens and/or footage, the picture quality in NYC was not super. Can not imagine what it must have been like to really see him if EIC is so much fun.(y)

The EIC band has never been "exactly" the same each year. I do not really think Elvis would have ever told a band member
"Get out you're too old"
I think they haved earned a place in that band as long as they want to play.
If health issues keep them sidelined then they can be replaced.
The idea of the EIC is to give those who never saw his show-an idea of what that experience was like.......having people who actually played and sang with Elvis in the show adds to that experience.....many people have heard of the legendary James Burton or Imperials, Stamps, Sweets....they want to get their autographs etc.....they are legends in their own ways also.
But if they retire or no longer want to travel-naturally they will get replaced.
