Over the years people who knew Elvis have either written a book or tried to paint Elvis in a negaitve way. Some have chose not to do that. One in particular is Linda Thompson. She's had several opportunities to cash in on Elvis' fame. But instead chose to actually EARN her living by writing Grammy award winning songs and masterpieces for artists like Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. She's also the mother of a famous tv personality, Brodie Jenner, who is the step brother of Kim Kardashian and the son of Olympic gold medalist, Bruce Kenner, one of the stars of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that airs practically every day and night on E Entertainment television.

Linda is currently on the Elvis cruise and has twittered about her experience and how much fun she has been having. She keeps Elvis a part of her everyday life which is nice to see. Her background wallpaper on her twitter page is that of her and Elvis leaving a hotel in 1975 and her son Brody has an Elvis tattoo on his wrist of the famous TCB logo with the lightning bolt. Her other son Brandon has a large portrait of Elvis in stage on the 50's (the same photo used on the Close Up box set) in his home recording studio. And Elvis has been mentioned several times on the Kardashian show. Also, on the subject, Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers, who is married to Khloe Kardashian, Kim's younger sister, is a big Elvis fan too(y).

Anyway, I just wanted to point out that Linda has been loyal and as a lifelong Elvis fan, I truely appreciate her for doing that. That being said, I look forward to the day she decides to write her autobiography as beauty queen growing up in Memphis to her 4 and a half year relationship with Elvis, to her marriages with Bruce Jenner and David Foster and her amazing songwriting career. Linda is a class act.

You have to hand it to Linda, she has kept her relationship under wraps. There is no doubt that she has seen the ups and downs of Elvis' life and has never been spiteful or vindictive like others from the inner circle. I suppose because she has made a living for herself she hasn't had to sell her soul to make a quick buck.

In the recent episode where they go to Bora Bora. Bruce, Kim, Scott and Kris Jenner (the mom) are all sitting at a table and Kim and Kris get into a playful argument.

Bruce: she used to have her hair slicked back when I first met her, she had the Elvis look.

Kim: now she's as fat as Elvis, in his last year.

Bruce, lol, oh, oh oh!!

Kris: well maybe I'll get a white jumpsuit then? Will that make you happy?

Kim: gives her a funny look like "maybe".


While it wasn't really positive it's still publicity on the biggest reality show on television. However, Kim has tweeted before that she thinks Elvis was gorgeous so it might have just been for tv. I have heard some of the show is scripted for tv.

On the spinoff show of KUWTK called Kim And Kourtney Take New York, they go to Vegas for Kim's 30th birthday party and Kourtney yells out "woohoo, viva Las Vegas baby!"(y)

And Khloe has made a reference to Shake, Rattle and Roll, which is a popular song by Elvis.

i first had the HONOUR of meeting LINDA THOMPSON in 1987 at the burning love convention and i wondered if she was as nice as she seemed when she was talking to all the fans------- she was , boy i could not believe how nice she was and so humble and beautiful at the same time. I asked if she could sighn my magazine cover and she could not believe that many fans wanted her autograph. Linda THOMPSON is a beauty both inside and out and i would love to read her autobiography , as i bet she would be 100 percent honest.
