It took me a few deep breaths to force myself to listen to FTD’s Amarillo ’77. After I made that, I had to promise my CD-player that I would play something good right after it. Is our prejudice rightful?

Well... :hmm:
This review is certainly a 180 from what I've heard about this CD so far!! I had heard from several people that this was a typical '77 show with Elvis sounding like he was a little more together than other '77 shows. I'm curious to see which version is the truth... ;)
TCB!

If anything good has come from releasing multiple shows from '77 is that it points out just how bad Elvis really was at the end. We as fans seem to at times wear blinders and pretend that everything was all right when it obviously wasn't. It looks like Elvis' New Year's Eve show was indeed his last decent performance of his career.
The saddest part to all that is that the EIC shows were just as bad. Now I understand greatly why EPE won't release those shows commercially.
