If anybody thinks Freddy Mercury was a better singer than Elvis, I dissagree, to me Elvis is No.1 and that is not just out of love, but with strong musical arguments. YET, things are relative enough, and so I do respect anybody who thinks Mercury is superiour, he was for sure an amazing and unique singer, he is the deal, no doubt about it, and a No.2 is well deserved. I'm sure Elvis would have had great respect for him if he had lived longer enought to see Queen going into superstardoom.

But about Micheal Jackson, totally overrated as a singer. He was good when younger, and also as a kid with the Jackson 5, but really? No.1? how about Aretha? or Ray? or Plant? even old Elton? Yes, he is a pop Icon, but image is one thing, a singer in straight musical terms is another, this was about being a singer not an icon. To me he would be lucky if he got into the top20.

To me this list stills favours a lot the old school, lots of contemporary voices as Bjork or Tom York are way superior than Axl Rose or Lennon.

Anyway, once again, it doesn't matter if Elvis didn't get to no.1, but it is the fact that almost 35 years after he left us, and 55 years after his world wide debut in '56, he ALWAYS made it to the top5 in any of this kind of polls, that is what really tells of his powers, not if he got to no.1 or no.3
