I've seen this footage, its funny how they do not seem to know how to end "Burning Love" in that first performance. Later Elvis speaks about it backstage with his group of guys right before another concert.

What's even more funny is how it took James Burton to bug Elvis enough to convince him to record the song to begin with, but once it went #1 he made it a staple to his live shows. Between fall 0f '72 all the way to the summer of '76, Elvis performed it regularly.

Well it never made it to #1 Chuck Berrys "My Ding a Ling" kept him from getting the #1...but you are correct that he drug his feet about recording the song but was happy with the results.

Actually, it was #1 on the Cashbox charts which meant more financially back in the day than radio play. Plus, it was included on 30 Number One Hits.

I was speaking of the Billboards listings and Chuck kept Elvis from the #1 spot.
Billboard is the top of the heap IMO-even though they have messed with their methods of ranking songs to the point of nausea.
