Just finished reading the bio of Barbara Eden, and she talks of Elvis's yearning to be a good actor. She says she felt he gave a good performance in Flaming Star and that he should have been given more of a chance to expand that acting talent.
She was generally complimentary about him, but spoke of meeting him years later in Vegas and that he was not the same person she met on Flaming Star.
Her book was a fair book, but not as indepth as I like.
Her relationship with Larry Hagman was interesting and her descriptions of some of his "antics" on the I Dream of Jeannie set were a riot.
