Yeah, I've seen this one. Too bad RCA wasn't aware at that time that it was a very special occasion. It would have been great to hear a live show without the Joe Guercio orchestra in good quality. Madison's Wonder Number Eight was a good release (with awesome artwork), but the soundquality was very mediocre.

Astrodome use to film every show for their big screen as far as I know....so my guess it is sitting in a vault some where or on someones self....lol

Man, just watching that...he looks a million miles away from everyone out there. Definitely NOT a very friendly place to perform a concert, I would imagine... (n)

I have the EVENT #8 CD and I have to say it's definitely a unique listening experience without the orchestra...sort of an unplugged type of feeling to it. (y)

the idea of retaining and filming events for archival purposes just wasn't in the zingiest at the time

look how long he Tuplelo concert has sat in the can

astonishing that his 50's shows weren't filmed professionally

The Astrodome show was scheduled to be a live album by RCA but Elvis requested for them to scratch it and make the Memphis show done a couple weeks later the live album instead.

Really is a darn shame RCA/Parker never filmed any shows besides the CBS material after the Aloha From Hawaii concert. They really could've captured some incredible moments of the Elvis magic, ashame.

I know it...just imagine if they had filmed some of those fantastic spring '75 shows in Houston, Huntsville, etc., or even those outstanding shows from the summer '75 tours like Ashville or Uniondale!! :hmm: (n)
