enough with the dumb cheapy xmas releases -

release the original one so the sales count toward more certifications for Elvis

by doing these cheapie discs that don't even qualify is ripping Elvis off

Last week I e-mailed EPE and asked if they could get in touch With SONY to request that they re-release Elvis' Christmas Album (1970 Camden Version). It has sold over 9 million in the U.S.A. and if it gets a re-release, and with a little help from his friends, Elvis could be getting his first Diamond Award (sales of over 10 million) in the next couple of years. EPE replied stating they would contact SONY to see if something could be done.

thanks Brian

it's frustrating when the label keeps adding titles, instead of re-issues so the sales count.

I am generally amazed, not at what Elvis did, but that he accomplished so much when his manager and the label/movie studios seemed to have worked so hard against him

yes, it's an ***** decision to keep releasing the three christmas albums in various formats under different names. BMG has to select one album, focus on this one yearly and keep building up towards that 10M milestone.

It's frustrating to see all those Elvis christmas albums selling millions, but then being more or less discontinued

I have long complained of this total injustice-the same songs with new art work and new track lists which sell millions, yet its sales do not count toward Elvis's original X-mas releases. Elvis should have had hit the 10 million plateau years ago on the original Christmas release yet it is still 9 million. It has long frustrated me.

I have to agree with you guys!! Another holiday season, another Elvis Christmas compilation.

If RCA/Sony doesn't want to re-release one of the original Christmas albums from when Elvis was alive, then at least be consistent and pick one of the numerous posthumous compilations and re-release that one each year so that all of the sales would count toward that one album. (Personally, I thought the IF EVERY DAY WAS LIKE CHRISTMAS and CHRISTMAS PEACE compilations were the two better ones from years past). But you guys are right, the best way to go would be to re-release the 1970 Camden album and let the cash registers start ringin'!! (y)
