Got this excerpt from somewhere else, but it really hits home the genius that was Elvis Presley!
"His room at the Albert Pick wasn't anything special - just a small, typical, motel room....Now sitting there in his pajamas at the Albert Pick Motel, with a battery powered tape player in front him, Elvis nailed it. His vocal performance was almost the polar opposite of what I'd heard him do in the studio. This time the music came out of him so easily, so natural as breath.....That little moment of music in a motel room had done something big for him - it had satisfied his soul."
page 146-147 from "Me and Guy Named Elvis" by Jerry Schilling in describing a trip to Nashville in June, 1966 when Elvis recorded "Indescribably Blue" from his room

LOVE this song.
Wasn't the Albert Pick motel about 9 miles from Graceland? Just re-read this - how come he was in Nashville at the time in 66?

He cut "If Everyday Was Like Christmas on June 10th, and I'll Remember You and Indescribably Blue on June 12th, 1966.
I see, thanks.
Wasn't he really annoyed about something - I remember reading somewhere - and he left the recording studio and the musicians there and just him, Red and Jerry went to the motel, where he recorded Indescribably Blue

Actually he did not want to go into the studio as he had a fallout with the colonel, ( You Can Read about it in
