I am FINALLY going to get to go to Graceland this week. I have a couple of questions. Do they allow you to take pictures? What all can you see, like what all rooms can you see? I will post pics when I get back if I am allowed to :)

just set your digital camera to an ISO 800 and you'll be fine, no flash will be needed.

You will be able to see the first floor, the awards room, the racquet ball area, the TV room, the swimming pool, the backyard, the office, the stables, the room with jumpsuits, the meditation gardens. Across the street is another musuem, this is really a great place, his airplanes.

Make sure you take a magic marker to write on the wall.

And have a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, as has been said, you can take photos after setting camera so flash wont go off. Unfortunately you cant take camcorder in there!
You see the whole ground floor: lounge/dining room/music room (through the lounge from the hallway)/kitchen/ground floor bedroom, jungle room and basement floor - tv/bar room, pool room. Also the trophy room and costumes(y). The office and place where they had target practice! Then outside where you see Lisa Marie's swing set (at least when we were there) and horses (at a distance). Planes, cars. Lots to see. :D

I would advise you go as a VIP. It costs more (n)but you can go as many times in a day as you like (y)and if you go later in the afternoon you could possible get a private tour (not officially , but we went with the crowds at 9am, and then took advantage of the VIP ticket and went again in the afternoon (got our moneys worth!) and we were the only two there:clap:. You then get so much more time to stop and look at things as you dont get pushed along with the crowds.

As far as I know, you can still walk up the drive between 7 and 8 in the morning to see the meditation gardens whilst it is relatively quiet.
Have a great time.

Last year the walk up was 7.30 - 8.30am - it was so special.
Have a great time - look forward to seeing your pics!

Thanks for all the advice guys :) I don't think I will be able to go til Monday though. Got to take my son to see the doc today. Hubby has to work tomorrow and got an appointment at my sons' school Friday. I am so stoked about going. I only live about 20 minutes away but never had the money to go. My parents were huge Elvis fans. My dad looked just like him when he was young. My mom died 4 years ago and she never got to go :(

Congratulations on your upcoming first trip to Graceland! I know that you will have a lot of fun. There is a lot to see and do there. So sorry that your Mom has passed and never had the opportunity to go to Graceland. I bet that you two would have had a wonderful time going together. Enjoy your trip and I look forward to seeing your pictures! :)

Yeah, my family has been to the birth place. My dad now lives near Tupelo and man they are Elvis crazy there! They have a McDonald's there that has Elvis buttons, movie posters, pictures and even an Elvis image in stain glass. I love it there :)
