ON STAGE - LEGACY ISSUE.

This is another winner from the SONY label.

I"ve never heard on stage sound so good,using the new MASTERS from 2007,that "VIC" worked on at the SONY studio in New York.

This set is a great way of getting young/new fans in to the live side of out man Elvis.

Yes ON STAGE will come out on FTD,but that"s not easy to buy if your a none fan and you want to try his live set/s.

This release is absolutley outstanding. The sound is out of this world great, stands great on the Cd shelf along with From Elvis In Memphis Legacy Edition and Elvis' first album Elvis Presley is the next to be included in the series! I can not wait!

I could not agree more the sound is superb – what a fantastic release!

Love the rehearsal take of "Wonder Of You" – and James Burton's gorgeous guitar solo -awesome stuff!

I am REALLY enjoying the new ON STAGE release also!!! (y)

The sound quality is OUTSTANDING!!! The packaging and booklet are first rate, and the essay inside the booklet is not the usual stuff that we've seen before...there's actually quite a bit of different information in there. Plus the photos are great - some very good AND rare ones!!! :D

The only drawback I have is the inclusion of the IN PERSON album on disc 2. Don't get me wrong, I personally LOVE the IN PERSON album and am glad it's here...but to me, it just seems out of place when paired with the ON STAGE album. Considering the ON STAGE album is the obvious focus of the set, perhaps a second disc of other Feb. '70 live performances would have been a better choice to couple with the original ON STAGE album?? Perhaps save the IN PERSON album for a future LEGACY EDITION release with some live '69 cuts? Just my thought... :hmm:

But in any case, the new ON STAGE release is a definite winner and should be in EVERY fans collection!!! (y)

I think Sony/RCA was trying to focus mainly on both albums being a multi-million seller. Neither set the charts on fire but sold enough to go platinum. I think they did it right by not adding outtakes of All Shook Up, Hound Dog, etc.

Good point vivaelvis, but considering the focus of the album is clearly the ON STAGE album, I think a second disc of Feb. 70's live recordings would have just made more sense and fit the overall concept of the package better. :hmm:

Although as I said, personally I love the IN PERSON album, so having it remastered and sounding better than ever certainly is a plus for me!!! ;)

Surely Sony is maximising its sales with the ON STAGE LEGACY release, plus really thinking about ON STAGE alone with just a second disc of outtakes or an unreleased concert would be more suitable for a FTD release – anyway you slice it ON STAGE LEGACY is awesome!

'On Stage' is a great release from SONY but unfortunately, for whatever reason, it has failed to enter the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts.

That's unbelievable. TV promotion would have helped,it really is stunning and shows why Elvis was the King!
