do you still buy bootleg cd's and dvds , i have cut back quite alot over the years especially with the cd's because many of them are just rehashes of ol soundboards from the mid 90's or they are bad audience recorded cd's , i know that many die hards still buy them no matter what the quality but i just prefer the soundboards and there are not many of those anymore. The dvd's sure are a let down as they rarely have anything new it is definetley ol vhs vids that have bin rehashed but given new exicting titles, i along with many of you await the ELVIS ON TOUR outakes that are rumoured to be floating around and said to be on disc very soon[i hope we get the boot version before the official one ] and for get about the ttwii outakes it seems the best of them were already put on disc by the complete works set last year, so i ask you do you still buy bootleg material even the ol rehashed stuff?

I still buy them, but only because of the improved sound and artwork. I cannot remember when a really new bootleg was released. A real shame, because the cd releases of bootlegs in the 80s/90s was really special and exciting :)
if you want to buy import cd's (the p.c. term ;)), ebay is your friend (y)

I miss the vinyl boots, the cds just don't feel the same, but I do buy DVDs when I see them if they are different than what I already have
www.presleyproducts.com or www.memphisrecordingservice.com are good ones
Too many sites will sell you CDrs or DCDr - and seriously if that's what the product is, then download'em and burn them yourself.

yes, got that one too. Recommended by te way ;) But those few new releases are snowed under by the re-releases. When this example was released, two re-releases of the shows in Dayton were also released, along with Fort Baxters The Final Homecoming.

I get some, pick and choose
Don't overly go for audience recordings, and think it's a waste of money buying later concert cd's with all the drum, guitar solos on them...........

I used to pick them up whenever I found them, but these days with the increased costs and the FTD releases, I really have to pick and choose which bootlegs to purchase. Actually, I haven't purchased a new bootleg in quite a while...just hasn't been anything that has come down the pipe which has really piqued my interest except for the recent box sets from the International Label and the DAYTON RELOADED box set, which unfortunately were a little too pricey for me to pick up... I don't buy bootlegs anymore. I have only bought one bootleg on cd, before that I was buying some on vinyl, but selling my whole vinyl collection HAS crossed my mind many times so I guess that will happened soon or later. I have all the studio recordings and alt. takes that's have been available up to this date on my PC (and back-up of course). I am also collecting live recordings that usually has been released on bootlegs, but most of the shows and concerts (audience recordings, soundboards, multi-track) can usually be found on the internet for free download. I still miss 41 shows that I'm aware of, but I guess they're on the net too.

TY Mike... Though I'm kinda confussed: always thought a bootleg was an "no-legal" product. ¬¬ How can a bootleg be like the one danny posted?
And yep, ebay may be the propper place to buy online, but taxes here in Mexico are huge. LOL *satie sigh*

Technically you are right Wendy, bootlegs are not legal in terms of having all of the music rights secured for the release of the material. But the bootlegs show up all over the place on eBay. Just type in "Elvis Presley" in the search box on eBay, narrow your search to "CD's" (or music, whatever it is) and just browse through there. You'll be amazed how many bootlegs show up. You just have to be careful though, because some are the actual bootleg CD's while others are just cheap imitations.
As for the one that Danny pictured (International 1971), some of the bootlegs are very well produced...like that one of course, but there are plenty of other fantastic box sets that have been released on the bootleg market like "A Profile - The King on Stage Vols 1. & 2" which came out a few years ago and is extremely hard to find, to more recent box sets like "Dayton Reloaded" containing his two shows from Dayton, OH. in October 1974 which came with a huge booklet!
Have fun shopping!!! (y) ;)
