i think they are superimposed.Has any rock artist apartfrom Elvis had an album cover with their father and manager outside their house?
What a bizarre choice

The album cover that rickb refers to Bessie is "Our Memories of Elvis".Released in 1979. This was a kind of Elvis unplugged album that was produced by Parker. Mostly it was just Elvis singing without the vocal backing.
This pic of Vernon and Parker is certainly not superimposed. You'll notice that Vernon is wearing the same suit he wore when he gave his small tribute to Elvis at the end of "Elvis The Concert". My best guess would be that this pic was taken on or around this time. Hope this helps you Bessie
