my son recently came over and bombarded me with a huge pile of magazine quotes from various mags that have many from the rock scene beating ELVIS , some are vince neil [who says he has no use for an ELVIS album and thought he had no rock and roll in him and was overrated quote circus magazine fall 1984]. james hetfield says ELVIS was nothing more than a pupet for white music and did nothing for rock - he was a lousy guitar player if that-quote from interview with kerrang magazine january 1986. Is this what those who even pick up a guitar think , mind you what they play i don't consider music only my son loves these hard rock musicians i have never discourged him or the music he played but it's amazing to me how these people think especially when ELVIS AARON PRESLEY influenced popular music period- he truly was the first and best dammit , the hall of gold and irra does not lie maybe they should pay a vist to graceland and at the same time have some respect for THE KING of music, over a billion records sold is an outstanding acomplishment. Thank you ELVIS for being and creating some if not the best nusic ever.

Vince Neil, who got drunk and slammed into a car, killing the drummer (Razzle?) from another band, who hid his early marriage so Motley Crue wouldn't be ignored by early fans?

the guy that Aerosmith wrote Dude Looks Like a Lady about?

yeah, he has credibility as a person

the problem with the metal guys is that they do metal because they aren't smart enough or good looking enough to do anything else.

they are ego children who have no clue about musical history

they guys that they worshipped - Led Zep, Queen, etc - all loved Elvis.

Vince who? Never heard of him. Enter sarcasm. Just another envious bastard seeking his own spotlight by slamming the greatest of all time. If it weren't for that "overrated non rocker" named Elvis there would have never been a musician known as Vince Neil.

Vince Neil grew up listenting to hard rock bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin etc. and that's the kind of music he has liked all his life especially since he joined a hard rock/heavy metal group.
Elvis wasn't that type of music so Vince Neil doesn't like him and that's okay he is entitled to his view not everyone has to be a fan.
I think if Elvis was a hard rock artist and made some good hard rock albums in the late 60's and 70's Vince Neil would probably be a fan.
That said if you talk to Heavy Metal fans Elvis isn't very popular among them so Vince Neil's feelings are not unusual.

I'd be more worried if these people were Elvis fans.
If you're criticized by fools you can almost take it as a compliment.

True Teddy.
And somehow, :hmm: I get an inkling that more people have heard of Elvis than this 'Vince' guy. I've certainly never heard of him.
And anyway, who cares what he thinks. It doesn't bother me that the whole world aren't Elvis fans. They're the ones missing out!

These kinda of persons..well they just don't deserves the pleasure we all have from knowing and listening to Elvis...and he should remember that back in the 50's...he broke all the gates and doors...and the results is rock and roll was born, and by that there were no more barrier, freedom in creation...and thats what make them come and sing some songs in stcoking.....with hair that looks like dude looking like a lady...lol...in the the musical genealogy...from Elvis spirit we can say...that he inspired...beatles, rolling stone..ccr.....the boss...and so many more and james hetfield...the one that have blast Elvis in 1986...well this guy after he got sobber he was on beer for 15 years said that Elvis was the only inspiration for his rock and roll...in Rolling stone magazine in 2002....

have all a nice day...hail to the king

It doesn't bother me what ignorant people have to say about Elvis. They ARE the ones that are missing out on the greatest entertainer the world's ever had.

I have never minded someone who just does not like Elvis or his music-who still has "respect" for his accomplishments in breaking rock to the world, his voice and talent.
But those who "dis" him, who have no respect, who dismiss him as nothing but smoke and mirrors (2 heavily used props by hard rock bands;)) those people I think should rethink their assessment.
